Scituate, Massachusetts
Scituate is a small Massachusetts town on the Atlantic Ocean. It has a beautiful harbor guarded by two jetties and a lighthouse.
Scituate was "established" (i.e., by the Europeans) in 1636. The native indians had already settled their and called their village "Satuit", meaning "cold water brook".

From the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary on Foster Road, Scituate, MA 02066
The camera moves so sometimes it's of the lighthouse and sometimes it's of the harbor.
If you can see the harbor, the lighthouse is on the right. And, if you can see the lighthouse, the harbor is on the left. In all cases, the Atlantic Ocean is on the right. Watch the 24-hour version and you can see the tide rise and/or fall right before your eyes! Love it!
Heritage Days 2008
August 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, 2008
Each year, with the help of many volunteers, the Scituate Chamber of Commerce proudly presents Scituate Heritage Days. The annual event combines live music and entertainment, artisan crafts, kid's activities and historical site visits for one of the South Shore's biggest and most anticipated outdoor events of the summer.
Lawson Tower
When I was growing up in Scituate in the 60s, us kids would walk up the winding staircase to the bell tower. It was a dark and scary climb; the only light came through a few sporadic narrow windows. There's a photo of Dreamwold. It was painted really dark brown, almost black, when I went there...for nursery school!
