iRobot Scooba: Robots Are Here (To Mop Your Floors)

This little 12-pound plate-sized disc can handle big jobs as it can get an average-sized floor done in about 45 minutes, with outstanding results. Using a special bleach free Clorox-based solution, the robot's AWARE sensor allows it to navigate obstacles such as table and chair legs, counter edges or anything else with ease.

The Cleaning System
Scooba utilizes a 4-stage cleaning process, in a single pass! In stage one, it suctions up larger particles like bread crumbs, dirt and sand. In stage two, a mechanism administers Scooba's cleaning solution to the floor, while none of it remains behind to spread dirty water (like a mop or sponge would). Stage three is where the scrubber removes any loose dirt or excess grime that is left behind from the solution, and finally - stage four is where the dryer finishes it all off: leaving the floor completely dry and clean. All of the residue is held in a special compartment that is easily emptied by you.

A brand new, in-the-box Scooba unit comes with (1) iRobot Scooba floor-washing robot, (1) battery, (1) power supply, (1) virtual wall (requires 2 D batteries, not included), (1) 8-oz. bottle Clorox Scooba cleaning solution, and (1) measuring cup.

Use the Scooba on:

Don't use the Scooba on:
[-] Unsealed wood floors (such as Pergo)

The official refillable solution for Scooba is bleach-free and carries the respectable Clorox name. Due to its composition, it is completely child and pet safe! While it is gentile enough for delicate floors, it certainly gets the toughest stains out. Scooba uses about 2 fluid ounces of solution, mixed with a quart of water to clean the tank. One 8 oz. bottle lasts for approximately 4 floor washings.

In the rare occurrence where you'll need to replace one of Scooba's parts, it's not a problem: parts are readily available on the market, and include new wheels, rotating brushes, a vacuum port, and cleaners.
