A Few Paintball Mask and Goggle Tips

1. Does the mask meet the industry standards for impacts? If not, you definitely don't want it!

2. Condensation is a problem, thermal lenses may help get rid of fogginess. This is important because if you have to take your mask off because you're unable to see, you may end up getting injured. Although the thermal lenses are the most expensive they are worth the money because you'll have clear vision and less condensation problems. If you have the cash also look at the mask fans, they will help move the condensation out. If nothing else use a spray on the lens.

3. How does it fit? Is it comfortable? Does it fit snugly? Can you speak and breathe freely? If you can't breath comfortably, you won't have any fun out there on the field, so make sure you will be able to breathe without restriction in that mask before you purchase it.

4. Is your field of vision restricted at all with the mask? You'll need good peripheral vision, 180 degrees or more would be nice.

5. If you buy a used mask and goggle system look closely for tiny cracks around the edges and replace if needed, in fact just get new lenses from the get go.

6. Is there plenty of padding? Padding helps make sure you are both comfortable and safe. Usually two layered foam or open celled foam offers the best comfort.

7. Does the mask come on and off easily, but stay firmly in place when you're paintballing?

8. Hey ! Does it look cool? Sure, safety and comfort come first, but you're going to want to look good while you're out there paintballing. Some designs may cost you a bit more, but if you like the designs look, it will be worth the few extra bucks, go for it!
