The Best Outlook On Life In A Cubicle

Scott Adams is a satirical, funny man.  He knows exactly where the line is, and doesn't cross it, but I do think he is resting right up against the edge of it.  And, that is what makes him funny.  He draws upon his life of experience in the business world to create comics that make life just a little more pleasant, and make the day just a little better.

Scott Adams At A Glance

Scott Adams was born in Windham, NY on June 8, 1957. He received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hartwick College in 1979. He also studied economics and management for his 1986 MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Adams is a trained hypnotist, and is also a vegetarian. He married Shelly Miles on July 22, 2006.

Adams writes in a satirical, often sarcastic way about the social and mental landscape of white-collar workers in modern corporations and other large enterprises. Prior to his success as a writer/cartoonist, Adams worked closely with telecommunications engineers at Crocker National Bank in San Francisco between 1979 and 1986, and at Pacific Bell between 1986 and 1995.

Scott Adams Other Works:

Two other books written by Scott Adams not related to Dilbert:

  • God's Debris: A Thought Experiment, 2001 ~~

God's Debris creates a philosophy based on the idea that the simplest explanation tends to be the best (a corruption of Occam's Razor). It surmises that an omnipotent God annihilated himself in the Big Bang, because an omniscient God would already know everything possible except his own lack of existence, and exists now as the smallest units of matter and the law of probability, or "God's debris", hence the title.
  • The Religion War, 2004 ~~ This is the sequel to the novella God's Debris. This book takes place right before the last chapter of that book.
