Things You Will Need to Scrapbook for Learning

  • A Scrapbook (Dollar Tree sometimes has inexpensive scrapbooks)
  • Card Stock in various colors- I usually buy this in bulk to save money.
  • Patterned Paper- Again I buy this in bulk to save money.
  • Stickers!!!! Kids love stickers and the possibilities are endless.
  • Glue- Don't go cheap on this or you'll have the stuff eventually not sticking to your page.
  • Pens in various colors- You need these for journalling which is an important part of scrapbook for learning.
  • A printer- there will be times you want to print out a picture from your computer.
  • Paper Trimmer- For parent use!!!
  • Scissors- You will need to cut things out!
  • Scrapbook Embellishments- These can vary. Choose things to help the page look cute and fun.

Your student can pretend to "visit" other countries or states. You can print out pictures and maps and then journal about the foods, clothing, customs, holidays and other important facts about the area. There are tons of stickers for scrapbooking about other countries and states.

My Little One's Art Scrapbook

Art

Do a scrapbooking page for each piece of artwork your student studies. Have your student try their hand at recreating the piece and include a printed picture of the original. Have your student journal about what they liked and what they didn't about the artwork.

Make sure you add journalling to make it more educational.

Preschool and Kindergarten

Some great ways to use scrapbooks for the little guys are ABC books, Color books and Number books. With an ABC book, have a letter on each page and find stickers that start with each letter. Ex: A- ant, apple, astronaut, alien... For a color book, have each page be a different color, find all re

Homeschool Yearbook

This is slightly different from the other ideas. This will be using your photos in the scrapbook, so you will need to make sure everything is acid free. Take photos of field trips, group activities, projects your child does, and of them working through out the year. Put them together in a scrapbo

If you have actual pictures (as in photos) or fragile souvenirs in your scrapbook, then you need to use acid free materials. If you are not using actual photos or souvenirs, then it really shouldn't matter if it's acid free or not.
