The simple items of scrap
sharp cutting tool scissors (craft knife or box cutter or razor blade tool always use caution) hole punch photo / paper trimmer
paper Staples has everything but also check wall mart and other places http://www.staples.com/ check for sales I have gotten wonderful buys especially around the holidays or just after some even bigger buys paper types -card stock heavy paper sticker paper for stickers (comes in clear and white)
a book these are not as hard to find as they used to be Michael's or other craft stores also check your local department stores or just do a web search you can get both 12×12 or 8×10 now alot of them come with clear sleeves that allow for longer life of your images and prints
if you want to laminate you can get cheap laminate rs on line cool and hot just do a web search and compare prices cool laminate rs are normally cheaper
Magnets you can get magnets at your local craft stores and department stores you can cut out stickers and stick them right onto the magnets can use laminated items and alot of magnets come with sticky backs so you can put print outs that you cut to fit right on the magnet magnets are great for all types of projects.
your printer your regular home printer is fine or you can bring to a place for printing like cvs or wall mart or Costco or you can spend a lot on a scrap printer http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?oid=53540919 you can find some good buys on ebay at times just search for scrapbooking printer . here are some printing services
http://whcc.com/
http://www.mpix.com/
http://www.winkflash.com/ (8×10 is the only real scrapper's size available)
http://www.photoexpressfotosource.ca/digital/digitalscrapbooking.html
More Info I have learned and more about my Items-
What type of paper to use
best on photo paper (either glossy or matte). But card stock or regular paper works just as well. You can try a variety of different papers and see what you like best.
12×12 Paper printing
You can buy a wide format printer http://www.wide-format-printers.org/ to print at home. These printers are typically around $400. You will have to buy large paper as well, which is typically about $2 a sheet. You can also have your layouts printed professionally. Check your local printing places for prices. I like Wall mart and folks use Costco. You can choose at 12×18 print for $3. There is also online photo printing.
COST
I have found that an 8×10 scrapbook page typically costs about $1.75 to print at home including the photo paper. 12×12's get very expensive to print at home because of the cost of the paper and printers again are very expensive
Card stock is great for my game print outs recipe cards calendars dry erase boards and greeting cards invitations and postcards and book marks Items will be in shop soon
Stickers when you see stickers in digital sites they are for digi scraping but you can in most cases get sticker print paper at staples or other stores they sell both white and clear i recommend white you can print out stickers to use in scrapping or fun for the kids to use I will always try when making stickers to make 2 sets a set to print and use as real stickers and mock stickers to use in digi scrap but you can still use mock as actual stickers just take your cutting knife and cut off the drop shadow if there is one i f you do not have a paint program photo shop paint shop you can place images in word and set them up to print from there. real stickers oh my the amount that is out there i buy them cheap at food stores and wall mart in card section.
Q) How Do I make the items for digi scrap
A) I use on line tutorials and Paint shop pro and photoshop
I have figured out some on my own I use my own Photos in some of my items
I am a member of groups that have helped keep me inspired and enjoying it
I try and keep items a 300dpi and for 12x 12 books but you can resize for smaller books in the future i will try and make my backs and frames to fit both sizes
both most single items will easily fit both
More about Printers / Printing
LOCAL PHOTO LABS: or copy centers as well. (i.e. Kinko's, cvs wallmart ,Costco, Sam's, etc.)
HOME PRINTERS: If you choose to print them at home, you have a variety of choices.
LARGE FORMAT PRINTERS: You many not want to give up your fabulous 12x12 albums or pages, so you would need to have a large format printer by Epson, HP or Canon. Shop around for the best prices.
REGULAR PRINTERS: If you can not afford or do not want a large format printer, you have some size options; 81/2 x 11, 10x10, 8x8, 6x6, etc. There are many albums out there that are made in these smaller sizes to accommodate these smaller pint outs.
PAPERS: It is recommended that you use paper that is compatible with your printer;
There are several choices of photo papers; matte, satin, luster, glossy, Each photo finish will give you a different look & feel.
There are also many fine artistic papers that are made specifically for ink jet printers. You'll find exquisite watercolor, canvas, linen-based & fabric papers for ink jet printers. the ink prints beautiful on these papers. They add a very art like flair to your creations.

- The only one I have is one I haven't seen in a while, and it's one my Mom put together when I was in my mid teens, comprising all the birthday and Christmas cards that I received from the time that I was born. Not only is it a look back in time in card design, but it has messages from family and family friends who have in many cases long since passed on.

PART 3 PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography is a big part of scrapping i tend to just go with what i take for photos but i do have days where i try very hard for that perfect photo.
Photography gained the interest of many scientists and artists from its inception. Scientists have used photography to record and study movements, such as Eadweard Muybridge's study of human and animal locomotion in 1887. Artists are equally interested by these aspects but also try to explore avenues other than the photo-mechanical representation of reality, such as the pictorialist movement. Military, police, and security forces use photography for surveillance, recognition and data storage. Photography is used by amateurs to preserve memories of favorite times, to capture special moments, to tell stories, to send messages, and as a source of entertainment. Many mobile phones now contain cameras to facilitate such use.
Commercial advertising relies heavily on photography and has contributed greatly to its development.
During the twentieth century, both fine art photography and documentary photography became accepted by the English-speaking art world and the gallery system. In the United States, a handful of photographers, including Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Steichen, John Szarkowski, F. Holland Day, and Edward Weston, spent their lives advocating for photography as a fine art. At first, fine art photographers tried to imitate painting styles. This movement is called Pictorialism, often using soft focus for a dreamy, 'romantic' look. In reaction to that,
