    Let's be honest here. 1. I like this book. 2. I'm related to the author. 3. That has nothing to do with the fact that I like this book.
    There is a real lack of good short story writing in the world today. My particular favorite genres are sci-fi, horror, and fantasy adventure. I read a lot of short story collections, and quite frankly most of the writing is very pedestrian, some of it is real crap! You read a lot of forgettable stuff to find a very few gems. While there are a handful of great sci-fi writers to replace my beloved, now dead masters, the same cannot be said for horror and fantasy.
    I recently read an independant review of 'The Spaces Betweem Your Screams'. At first I thought the reviewer was related to my brother. But no, she just recognized good writing when she saw it.
