Will Scrooge Go To Heaven?
Ranked #20,423 in Culture & Society, #417,495 overall
Yes, I Know This Is A Fictional Chractor. But I Wanted A Humous Way At Looking At Something From The Bible.
We all know the story of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" where the fictional character Scrooge is this rich heartless man who cares of no one. He is very tight with is money and possessions.
I created this lens becuase I wanted to know what others think if Scrooge or rich people in general will get into Heaven.
For a long time I wanted to become rich. I had those dreams just like I am sure millions of people. Then when I came a christian I decided I wanted to become rich to help the poor. Now I just want to trust the Lord and help others to trust in Him just like I do.
Not that I am saying to be Christian you have to give up your dreams of being rich or to give up being rich if you already all. You do what your heart feels right. Will you have treasures on Earth or will you have treasures in Heaven? Me I would rather have treasures in Heaven since I am only here about 70-80 years. But I will spend the after life for eternity.
"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Matthew 6:21) (KJV)
"And Again I Say Unto You, It Is Easier For A Camel To Go Through The Eye Of A Needle, Than For A Rich Man To Enter Into The Kin
(Matthew 19:24) (KJV)
"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me." (Matthew 19:21) (KJV)
Don't get me wrong. If your rich I'm not telling you that you have to sell all your possessions. You have to do what you think is right in your heart. I just hope you will think of what can happen to your soul after you pass on from this life. I am in no way judging you or anyone. I am not perfect myself and I would have to admit it would be very hard to let go of your possessions.
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what
(Mathew 6:25) (KJV)
The Lord knows of our needs before we know of them. If we just trust in him and pray he says he will take care of us and our needs.

Dictionary.com definition of pride:
pride
-noun
a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.
As we see in the definition of conceit is pride. A picture of a person who believes he got their on their own, with their own merit and they will continue to be able to do so without help or merit of anyone. This is a very dangerous additude which makes oneself not want to rely on anyone else. True we have to becareful who we relay on. But Gods ways are not our ways. He has always been there and always be there.

James 1:11
So How Does A Rich Person Go To Heaven?
"At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:1-4
Just as a child is in need of his Father so does any man have need of his Heavenly Father. Just as God created this earth and us, giving us food, shelter, and clothing as well as protection and guidence we need him. We need to accept he his our Father and we cannot make it without our Father.
Admitting you have this need is the first step of humbeling yourself and being able to enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Admitting you need his forgiveness of having too much pride to see your need for him.
