The Art of Scruff

Yes, that's where it all started - at the age of four, in my pyjamas, at my little table with my basket of crayons and coloured pencils. The only difference now that I'm grown up is that I've swapped my crayons for a computer (though I still love crayons, pencils and paint).

The idea of Scruff evolved out of my endless doodles of little animals and people, which usually had 'scruffy' fingerprints and blobs of ink all over them. I started with (still scruffy) hand-drawn cards, given to my long-suffering friends and family on every possible occasion. As I became more computer-savvy I launched myself into the learning curves of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and my mucky world was transformed - all messes could be digitally evaporated!

Fast forward a year or so to my discovery of POD (Print on Demand) sites such as Zazzle and RedBubble. I've never looked back. Creating collections is incredibly rewarding, and so is the idea that someone, somewhere in the world is walking around with one of my little animal drawings on an iPad case!

Scruff is very fond of cats, and it may be that he's actually a cat himself (nobody knows exactly). His favourites are black cats, but he is equally partial to a fluffy tabby or a tiny white kitten.
