search engine first place listings are possible, even without squidoos and other pages linking to your site (but that does help!)

If you have a website you are bound to have asked yourself at some point how to get it listed at first place in Google and other search engines (yes there are others! Yahoo and MSN are currently no's. 2 and 3 respectively, in terms of market share*)

Well my name is Roger Davies, or Rog to my friends and clients, and I run a web development agency by day, and by midnight oil I mess about with the internet for my own personal gain.

This basically involves spending my cash on every single work at home, online business, get rich quick-quick-slow, e-book and 'system' that I like the look of, which is basically about 25% of them now.

Basically I am addicted to sales pages, the way they look, the way they promise such wealth and freedom from the mundane side of life, and the income of course, and the feelings they are somehow able to create within me, well I can't resist, or couldn't.

Now that I have bought most of them, I'm getting hardened to it, and they have to be really good sales pages these days to get me to click through and purchase.

In the course of all this frivolous spending of online money I have acquired a reasonable collection of my own websites which I am of course going to plug here somewhere along the line, but the one thing I have learned is that it doesn't matter what you are selling, you won't sell anything, or lots, unless you have traffic visiting that site.

Now whilst I am an online entrepreneurs dream website visitor in that I buy stuff more often than not, apparently not everyone is like me! The majority are suspicious, don't believe it or simply can't afford it. I didn't know this, thinking everyone was as keen as me, but in reality you need a lot of 'normal' visitors to come along before you find another like me, ready to buy at the drop of an abundance emotion!

So how to get lots of traffic?

There are lots of ways, you can buy them per click from Google AdWords and yahoo search marketing and other less well known pay per click advertisers. This can be expensive unless you know how to get the clicks for as little as 1pence each as I do, but more on that another day!

You can advertise in ezines quite cheaply, but it still costs.

You can write articles and submit them, which takes time.

You can write press releases and submit them, which also takes time.

You can create videos and upload them to YouTube and other video sharing sites, this also takes time and a lot of effort and a fair bit of kit and skill.

You can start social networking, which also takes a lot of time.

Plus lots of other methods, but the number one source of traffic in terms of return on investment and quality is through organic search engines.

In order to get the most traffic from search engines you need to be listed on the first page, or ideally at the top of the listings, in first place.

well, turns out I'm pretty good at this, no joke, I don't know why nobody else got here before me to be fair, but if you go to Google and type in 'Google first place' you will find my website http://www.googlefirstplace.com at the top of the listings, you will probably also find several of my other variant sites in 2nd 3rd place etc, such as http://www.google-first-place.com or http://search-engine-first-place.com

Hours of fun putting all that lot together, ah well you have to do something to keep you out of the pub right?

If you would like to know more about getting your website to be listed first in Google or other search engine 1st place listings then please click through to my website listed above or try this one http://www.GoogleFirstPlace.co.uk and fill in your name and email address and I will tell you all about it.

Or of course you can hire me to do it for you but will that be as much fun for you?

All the best

Rog
