One of the easiest ways to monitor what is being said about your brand is to sign up for google alerts and you will receive a daily update of what is being said about the things that matter most to you.You can be notified of any new content hitting their index for keywords that matter the most to you.
Such as:
* Your Name
* Your Company Name
* Any topic that matters to you.

With the google alerts you will be notified of new blog postings and news regarding you as well as any other content describing the terms that you want to monitor.
However there are many sites that may not show up immediately in these alerts and you want to make sure any content in them is accurate and you take the time to address any negative postings about you.

How to prevent negtive information from getting out about you.
The first thing is not to create circumstance that would allow people to try to negatively impact your online reputation. This is the most important step.
Sometimes people have ulterior motives for publishing negative information about you or your brand and you should address each one in a very open and transparent fashion and not become caustic in your replies.
Your responses could cause more harm than good if not handled politically correct.

- You can use many free platforms to get the word out about you and control the marketing message delivered in the process.
- Create a Squid Who Page
- Create your own page on www.squidwho.com before someone else makes one. Then you can control the content and the discussion.
- Who Is Paul Rushing
- Create your own blog with your name in the domain. This one is mine where I talk about family life and whatever comes to mind.
It is one of many but I have absolute control over this one and no one else can control this content.
