Search and Win with Blingo
Blingo is a search engine powered by Google search results. When you search with Blingo you get the exact same results as you would with Google, including the same old Google AdWords advertisements. The main difference between Blingo and Google is quite simple, you have a chance of winning prizes when you search with Blingo rather than Google. The search engine has been around since 2004 and has been relatively recently acquired by the prize company Publishers Clearing House. Blingo should be used just as any other search engine, I use it instead of Google now because there is no difference in quality of results.
Tips and Tricks
The most important thing is to simply treat it as a search engine, not a way to make money. When I am curious about something on the internet I just search on Blingo and recieved the same results as somebody searching on Google. Does it typically occur to me that I may win a prize? Depends on what I'm doing at the time but typically it has just become habit for me to search with Blingo.
Only the first 25 searches each day count towards your search total, so don't think that sitting there searching for things for hours straight will be a guaranteed win.
Change your browsers default homepage and default search to Blingo or download the Blingo toolbar. I use Internet Explorer 7 personally which has a search box in the upper right hand corner, mine is configured to use the Blingo search engine. I currently manage a website that uses a google email address, google adsense, and tracks statistics with google analytics so it is more convienient for me currently to use Google as my main homepage, but I used to use Blingo as my homepage.
Invite a few friends! It's truly a good service that will prove itself quickly, send an email to friends and family and when they win you will win as well.

What can I win with Blingo?
Blingo gives out a variety of prizes, they are best known for giving out many smallers prizes a day, typically $5 gift certificates or movie tickets every 10-15 minutes and larger prizes such as $50 cash about once an hour. They also give out much much larger prizes from time to time such new cars, yes they really have given out cars for searching before. The ultimate prize is the $10 million jackpot which you can earn entries into when you search. When you've won a prize you will get a screen that says "You win!" and you will enter the shipping information in for your given prize.

A great book, I'm a big fan of the Google as a company just because of the way they operate which goes against much of corporate logic, yet clearly it works. I'd highly highly recommend this book if you've ever used a search engine before.

What about privacy, spam, etc?
I was quite surprised by the minimal amount of information required, I didn't have to enter my mailing address at all, and if I remember correctly even putting in my zip cope was an optional choice just to see who had won prizes within my town.
I have not recieved any spam at all from Blingo, the only e-mails I have recieved are ones that I specifically requested, which are emails to tell me when my friends have won prizes and therefore I win a prize with them. Originally when PCH took over Blingo many people were worried that email addresses would be sold, etc. but they have fully complied with their privacy policy and I couldn't be happier with them.
