Seborrheic Dermatitis on Face
I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis on face, and if you do, you'll have to learn that you can't cure this condition, only learn how to control by taking proper care of it. In this lens I'll share my thoughts about the topic.
What is Seborrheic Dermatitis?
This is a type of dermatitis that shows inflammation on the upper layers of the skin. This condition is not contagious. This type of dermatitis is common in infants and adult older than 30 with more incidence in the male population. You know you have seborrheic dermatitis when you present one of these symptoms:
- redness
- itchy skin
- inflamed skin covered by scales
It produces the so calles "dandruff flakes"
Treating Seborrheic Dermatitis on Face
First, you need to get a proper diagnose form a doctor and determine the severity of seborrheic dermatitis on the face. You can control it using medicated shampoos.
For the specific part of the face, around the mouth and nose, you will need to use lotions containing steroids for a time determined by your doctor.
Some doctors also recommend quitting smoking, drinking and eating spicy food. There are patients who have seen improvement with sebum regulators.
this is a condition that tends to reappear. You'll have to live with it for the rest of your life.
