That is exactly what I thought a year ago, and I set my sights to learn exactly how. So of course I googled it! But what I found was secret shopping scams that required you to pay in order to get a list of the shops. These secret shopping lists can be found for free. I am going to show you, from my experience where to find legitimate secret shopping jobs.

This lens is not only about showing you how to find legitimate shopping companies, but to show you the TOP TEN reasons to become a mystery shopper.

Top Ten Reasons to Become a Mystery Shopper

  1. Because now you will not feel bad when you tell your partner that you are going to the mall...AGAIN!
  2. Because it is a great way to earn extra cash!
  3. Develop your observation skills. You must be like a detective, studying the customer service levels of various shops.
  4. Learn more about your daily food purchases, that might help you save money by showing you better deals.
  5. Very easy to find shops. You might think that somebody else will have already got the good shops, but that is not the case, there is always a job available.
  6. Have the Freedom to choose when you want to work. You pick the jobs that you want to take, and if you want to take the day off, then nobody will tell you no.
  7. Eat at fancy restaurants, get free hotels, and even cruises or other vacations. If you become good at mystery shopping, and write descriptive and active feedback, you will soon be able to take part in the better shops. The better you become at secret shopping, the more you will get paid.
  8. Mystery Shopping is a very important job. It gives the owners and managers an extra set of eyes to see the way customers are being treated in their establishment. If you have ever been treated unfairly, then you know how justifying it would be to be able to report them to their supervisors, and get paid to do it...without them every having to know!
  9. You do not have to pay any start up costs in order to start working. You just fill out your information, and sign up for the job.
  10. People will always be interested in listening to what you do. You will be able to hold an audience because people are very interested in getting paid to shop.

How to find Legitimate Secret Shopping Oppurtunities

Step by step process to find the right places that pay you to shop.

1. Volition Mystery Shopping - This is a website that provides you with a list of legitimate mystery shops. Go there and get familiar with the website.

2. Create a yahoo or gmail Email Account, seperate from your normal one. (You will be receiving alot of Emails with job oppurtunities.

3. Sign up for every Mystery Shop listed at Volition. This may take a while because it is a long list. The reason to do this is because you will want all the shops emailing you, so that you will have more to choose from.

4. Sign up for entrepreneur magazines such as Entrepreneur or Home Business. These magazines will get you focused on becoming financially independent, and free you from your need for a "job".

5. Increase your writing technique. This is the number one reason that mystery shoppers become and stay very successful. I personally use White Smoke.
