HOW TO MAKE A MYLOT BANNER
1. First you need to find a banner you like. Right click on the banner you like to save the image to your computer. You saw my favorite Mylot banner at the beginning of this lens Click on this link for a list of Mylot banners
2. You then upload the banner to an image storing website. Photobucket is a great and free site to save your images. They also have lots of fun tools like slideshows, scrapbooks and other ways to showcase your creativity. Click on this link to sign up for Photobucket
3. Find your banner on photobucket and click INSIDE the box next to the words "html code". A yellow message that says "copied" will pop up. Paste the html code where you would like your banner to appear.
4. There will be two sets of html codes, one for the website location and one for the image location. The image location code will always be listed second. Never change anything on this html code or your banner will not load properly.
5. You are going to type your Mylot referral link after the http: (see blue and green text) and erase the rest of the code up to the last set of quotes. The image html code is the red text. Do not touch that code. Here is a screenshot that makes it simple to view.

HEY - NO SPAMMING ALLOWED ON MYLOT
Your very first time you came up with an interesting post on Mylot and there are tons of members responding to your post. Oh boy, that means good earnings and of course a chance to show off your superb writing skills. Anyway the discussion is really taking off and along comes this mylotter who responds with a reply that has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. What the heck is going on? It's sorta like the teacher who screeches the chalkboard to get students attention. Most of the time but not always, it's going to be a new Mylotter (less than 50 posts). This person is spamming and that is not allowed on Mylot. Nowadays spammers are very clever. They may even throw in a line to appear they are talking about the subject matter. The best thing to do when this happens. In my opinion - nothing. They are waiting for you to ask more questions so they can push their product or website. Don't waste your time with spammers. If they are rude or persistent in any way, this statement does wonders: MYLOT DOES NOT TOLERATE SPAMMERS! QUALITY OR QUANTITY POSTS?
DECIDE AFTER READING THIS EXAMPLE
When I first joined MYLOT my idea was to post my butt off to hundreds of discussions per day. Yes, I was in it for the money and the race was on. I never even made it to the finish line and was burned out after one week. Even quit MYLOT for a few weeks. Here is a great example: made 15 one liner posts (QUANTITY) one day and made 10 cents. Wow, let's not run to the bank just yet. Made two QUALITY posts really going into details perhaps 4 sentences each post, made 58 cents for two posts! Now I ask you again, which is more important, Quality or Quantity? MEET CRASH - MYLOT'S INSIDE GUY

I'm glad to see this lens. The MyLot website concept is difficult to understand. I haven't made much yet, but it's a way to post a link to Squidoo and my personal blog. I've made "best answer" several times, but I don't think I made more than a dime.
I can't remember where I found this information because it's not on the MyLot photo guidelines, but don't you have to have a certain number of points on your profile before you can add photos to discussions to increase your earnings?
