My Secrets to Dog Training Review
Secrets to Dog Training, which was formerly known as Sit Stay Fetch, is an extraordinarily popular downloadable package of dog training resources. As you can see by the great testimonials on their website, Secrets to Dog Training many people have had great success with their program.
Everywhere you look online, nearly all references to dog training point in the direction of this program. You're probably here because you're trying to figure out if you can benefit from it. I hope my review helps you out.
To tell you the honest truth: Sit Stay Fetch is a great resource as a dog training package; they definitely provide you with so many great resources for your money. For me personally though, it was not really my cup of tea because...
I have always approached dog training using traditional methods such as clickers, treats, and positive reinforcement. Sit Stay Fetch is based on the idea that you have to be alpha over your dog. Although these two theories aren't opposites when it comes to dog training, they're definitely different approaches. If you are a fan of the alpha approach, then Secrets to Dog Training might be right for you.
The official Secrets to Dog Training website explains the alpha approach in detail.
When I first purchased the program, I was definitely a bit overwhelmed by the large volume of what I had just obtained. Besides the main book titled Secrets to Dog Training, this dog training program also came with nine audio files and eight videos. On top of that of that, it also included several other bonus ebooks.
You may think that this much information may be a bit confusing to sort through, but it is very well organized. There is a detailed Table of Contents (which is many pages long due to all of the information). My favorite feature is the fact that you can get an overview on the information related to any program or question you are having about your dog. In addition to this, the beginning of the book has a page which shows you how all of the different sections and topics all relate with one another.
One of the great features about the Secrets to Dog Training package, is not only does it provide you with instructions and information about each different step in the dog training process, but it also gives you real life stories and examples of how it has worked for different users. This gives the program a more personal touch, and allows you to apply people's stories to your situation a lot better than a cut and dry textbook would.
The sound files that come with the Secrets to Dog Training package are pretty much the entire book on audio. These are great to put on a CD and listen to while you drive, or put on your iPod and listen to when you're working out or just casually lounging around. When I listened to the first chapter, I had already read it in the book. I didn't think that I would pick up on anything new, but I was wrong! Listening to the chapter allows our brains to process the information different, and I picked up on several additional ideas that I had missed while reading. The videos show examples and go into depth on a few of the topics. They're complete enough to be of use to adults, but also are explained so well that a child would understand them.
If you want to have the ability to learn by reading, listening, and viewing the videos, this package has everything for you. This comprehensive dog training course includes several bonus ebooks, including my personal favorite which is called The Ultimate House Training Guide. Another special bonus is a unique and personal email consultation with Daniel or his team on a dog behavior problem you are having. Trust me, this is definitely very useful! His site has some examples of the correspondence he has had with users in the past.
Another interesting thing to note is that you can purchase Secrets to Dog Training as a gift for someone else (just look towards the bottom of the page).
If you prefer a traditional book instead of the instantly downloadable ebook, you can also order a physical copy to be mailed to you.
