Secular Progressive Test

Secular Progressive is a term coined by Fox News Commentator and best selling author Bill O'Reilly. His new book "Culture Warrior" defines the current struggle between traditionalists and SP's. It is a very clear battle line. I have come up with a list of questions that will clearly separate the Traditional thinking and SP thinking. Perhaps, you may think you are in one camp but may be more closely to the other or vice-versa. Take the test and add up your score.

Who are some SP's

Obviously, a score of near 20 is a Secular Progressive and a score of near _20 is a traditionalist. However, I do make another distinction. Agreeing with a policy is different than being an activist trying to influence policy. Some of you may agree with one or more of the issues but unless you are actively spending money or time to bring about the changes, you are not a true SP.

Here are some well know SP:
  • George Soros - He spent $20 Million dollars in the 2004 election to un-seat GW Bush.
  • Michael Moore.
  • Sean Penn.
  • ACLU
  • People for the American Way (PFAW)
  • Tide and Ford Foundation
  • Moveon.org
  • Media Matters

My personal opinion

I don't have any hard facts but from just my perception, I believe the country is divided 30% Conservative, 50% moderate and 20% Liberal/Progressive among the voting public. The main stream media (MSM) is 90% Liberal. I believe their influence has shifted the balance and created an almost 50/50 split in the voting public. Without their bias, the country would be 55/45.
Here are my estimate of some other groups that may have influence.

Supreme Court Judges (5/4).
Hollywood elites (10/90).
MSM (10/90).
College professors (20/80).
Talk Radio (90/10).

Final Remarks

I am a T-warrior. I think the majority of Americans are Traditionalists. We think the danger lies with apathy. History tells us the Roman Empire fell because of corruption and decadence from within. Our Judeo-Christian culture is under attack. We must be aware of what is going on if we are going to be prepared to defend it.

The traditional warrior's (T-Warrior) code of ethics is encapsulated by ten "pithy" principles (courtesy of Bill O'Reilly):

* Keep your promises
* Focus on other people, not yourself
* See the world the way it is, not the way you want it to be
* Understand and respect Judeo-Christian philosophy
* Respect the nobility of America
* Allow yourself to make fact-based judgments
* Respect and defend private property
* Develop mental toughness
* Defend the weak and vulnerable
* Engage the secular-progressive opposition in a straight-forward and honest manner

    Sorry, but I don't see those of us in the middle as wishy/washy. I've researched the issues extensively, and am very strong in my opinions - I just don't fit in your neat little boxes. Your right - the Westerm Roman Empire fell to corruption. The Eastern Roman Empire fell because of stupidity and ambition - and the Chinese and Egyptian Empires fell because of stagnation. We need change AND stability to survive.

    The US had its chance to make a difference in the world and squandered it making corporations richer. Where do we want our planet to be in 100 years? Nation fighting Nation? Or shouldn't we be unified so that we too can provide opportunity for all humanity, every race and creed and even explore space and create new civilizations in other solar systems.

    Interesting, but as with all surveys that attempt to reduce very complex issues into a few very simple choices, the choices tend to oversimplify the issues. For example, question 17. Do you believe in rehabilitation of child sexual criminals? ?. If you answer A, does that mean that you think that every fifty year old serial molester with hundreds of victims can be rehabilitated with six months of group therapy? (I don't) ?. Or, if you answer B, does that mean that you think that every nineteen year old who has a serious relationship with a fifteen year old must be locked up for the rest of his life? (I don't).

    After the 9/11 commission report came out. There was talk about how Bin Laden had planned the attack on our country for five years before 9/11. If there is one thing that we can learn from this is that our president at the time was pushed into attacking Afganistan.
    Yes what happened was an attack on our country, and those whom wake the sleeping giant. Be warned. That when you attack our people, we will come back at you with a force you have never seen. The CIA, FBI, NSA, as well as our militray secret services, navy seals, rangers etc. should have come together and have devised a plan of response to bin laden, and his forces.
    Don't tell me that our country's intelligence forces couldn't take a year, or more to devise an attack on them that would have eliminated them all together? "cooler head's prevail"
