Have you been turned down for a credit card? If you were, the most likely reason is that your credit score was too low since that is what most credit card companies look at first. If you have applied at a couple of places and haven't gotten approved the first thing that you need to do is get a copy of your credit report. By paying your credit card bill on time each month you will also be building positive credit which will in turn negate some of the bad credit.

If you don't have a valid credit card in this day and age it can be quite restricting not to mention embarrassing. You cannot rent a car or reserve a hotel room either.
