Seeking a Friend for the End of the World Soundtrack

An ensemble cast including Keira Knightly (A Dangerous Method), Steve Carrel (Crazy Stupid Love) and Melinda Dillon (Heartland tv series) star in this apocalyptic comedy marking the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Lorene Scafaria (Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist).
"Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" explores what people are capable of doing when the end of the world is imminent. As a massive asteroid nears Earth, Dodge (Steve Carell) finds himself alone after his wife leaves in a panic. Accompanied by his neighbor Penny (Keira Knightly), he takes a road trip to reunite with his high school sweetheart. Their journey however, takes a different turn and each discovers that unexpected things can happen when the world is about to end.

Scorers for the film are Jonathan Sadoff (A Good Old Fashion Orgy) and Rob Simonsen (The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best). Only one track from their original score is featured in the film's 12-track soundtrack album. The remainder are songs by various artists including INXS, The Beach Boys, French Kicks, PM Down, Frank Black, The Walker Brothers, The Hollies, Scissor Sisters, Wang Chung and Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. The soundtrack album is available to pre-order on Amazon pending a physical release on June 19, 2012 but most of the songs may be downloaded as singles from iTunes or Amazon. Scroll down for details.
