This lens is a reinactment of a weekend workshop that I facilitated in 1999. I discovered the handbook a few days ago while I was creating a lens about scanning your life into a DVD (one of my organization lenses).
If you would like to practice or teach the art of creative visualization, this lens will help you begin and offer resources for indepth study.
It is at sunset...
"GypsyOwl?" (long pause). "I need you to come to the shop as soon as possible." (another long pause). "RL said to call you and that she is certain you can do this."
The invitation to substitute for our Guided Visualization class teacher wasn't anything I had even imagined ever doing. Here was her assistant calling me to fill in for her while she attended to business out of town that night.
"...she said YOU CAN do this." he repeated.
"...you must have me confused with someone else."
Something inside me wanted to believe her, while the biggest part of me wanted to say... 'sorry, you must have me confused with someone else.'
Then something happened to me. Words were coming out of my mouth that were not mine.
"No problem! Thank you for asking me. I will be there at 5:30"
That was my introduction to facilitation of a weekly visualization group, which grew into a monthly weekend workshop.

When we left the class, on the first night I was facilitator, the assistant called me back to the desk. "Look over there," he said. I looked in the direction that he was pointing and saw water marks on the carpet in the shape of bare feet."Who was walking all over your carpets with wet bare feet?" I asked.
"Those just appeared as your class was leaving" he said with a very odd look on his face.
"Your kiddin' me right?"
I was never sure if he was telling me the truth or not. But, if he set it up, how was it that he knew we had gone to the beach in our visualization? I had actually thought of that after we started the class.
"We started out walking down a long path to a meadow."
We started out walking down a long path to a meadow. Everyone had their eyes closed and I guided them through a memory that I had of walking along the paths out in the country where my Grandmother used to live.After we were settled in a clearing, with a wishing well and a very tall evergreen tree nearby...after we had breathed in all of the scent of pine and wildflowers...and we had felt the mist of the water from a nearby creek.
After we had listened to the water flowing over rocks and splashing onto the sides of the tall cavern walls...
We found ourselves on a beach.
Then we listened to the sea guls and felt the breeze on our faces, the sand between our toes, the scent of salt, and we could see the foam on top of a green caressing blanket of pure love.

Checklist For Personal Guided Visualization
"Write your own guide..."
- Choose a time when you can be free from distraction.
- A regular routine (daily, 3x a week, or once a week at the same time works the best).
- Plan your visualization. Have a general outline idea about where you are going to go, what you will see, hear, feel, experience, resonate with,...
- Gather the tools you will use. Music, candles, a special chair, pillow, or mat.
- Write your own guide before you begin. Results are to be written in a form that indicates they have already manifested in your external world.
- Practice, practice, and practice some more.
- Create a visualization journal about your experiences. Indicate what you experienced (where did you go, what did you feel, see, touch, smell, all of your sensory experiences can be listed or elaborated upon).
How Do You Know What You Really Want?
"What do you REALLY want?"
We confuse the universe with conflicting orders. We say we "want fries with that," while our minds are reacting to the complexities of consequences. We order a salad, while we are thinking about the double bacon cheese burger.
Basically, we will not receive the desires of our heart, until we have harmonized our mind, body, spirit, actions, focus, and emotion down to one choice. In other words: If you want the salad, then, RESONATE the salad - Be The Salad.
The Universe Reads our Heart
Getting what you want (what you really want) is as simple as asking.
What do you say you want?
What do you believe you want?
What do you feel you want?
What do you say you want?
What do you think you want?
What do your actions say about what you want?
Are these all in harmony?
While We Were On The Beach
We felt the sand between our toes. It was warm and comforting.We felt the breeze on our face.
The sound of the waves enveloped us. The sound washed away all stress.
"The sand was shifting..."
We walked close to the water. We could feel the waves gently moving across the sand, over the top of our feet, the sand shifting below and giving us a sense of weightlessness.The water was warm and deep green. We emersed our thoughts into the depth, until it was up to our necks, warm, comforting, and massaging.
It was as if nature had created a hot tub spa and added all the nurturing every one of our senses could grasp.
We returned to the beach and sat quietly as our hearts danced like the waves along the shoreline.

It Was Sunset...
We Held The Light In Our Hands
As we felt the sun move gently from the top of our heads down to the side of our faces, we held our hands out, setting them palms up on our knees.The sun gently moved from our faces into the palms of our hands...
The warmth was cleansing. Our hands were revived. Soon the warmth traveled to through each of our fingers, resting into the joints and then slowly moving toward the wrists, then up our arms, through our elbows, into the shoulders and across the back of the neck and shoulders. There it would rest.
Like a sponge, we begin to feel full of healing light, little by little, until we were enveloped in soft, warm, healing radiance.
WE
Let out a breath and then inhaled the all encompassing love of the sea, nature, sunlight, and the onset of a harmonious night.
"...a floating sensation..."
There we would rest until we slowly became aware that we hadn't ever left the small conference room at New Thought Central. We would begin to become aware of a floating sensation that always seemed to be handled best with a large order of French Fries and an hour or two of discussion over some tea. (Roots for some reason help us to become grounded).
Somehow those visits in the nearby coffee shop after the session had become an essential part of the evening. Allowing our bodies to become grounded again, aware of the concrete and pavement least we inadvertently try to wiggle our toes into the black top drive or parking lot.
We had discovered our path to the seashore, our escape from the hustle and bustle if only for an hour or two once a week (or short sessions at home in-between).
"Simply Breathe"
The primary purpose of the whole process was to breathe and to become aware of our own hearts. No matter how harmed we have ever become, there is healing power in our simple breathing. Yet all too often we tend to hold our breath, or not breathe as deeply as we need in order to heal. We can heal the soul by simply breathing without restriction, without hesitation, without any barriers built up to protect us. Our shields need to come down every now and then so that we can breathe with intensity and open our hearts to communicate our true and hidden desires.
We desire creativity, hope, purity, peace, that moment of silence when we can hear the universe speak in a very still voice saying
"You are never alone."

- Cool lens! 5 ***** I do creative visualization and have for many years. I don't do it so often anymore, but I do intentions with visualizations so I guess I do still do this. Anyways, I love your lens.
