Seiko, one of Japan's trademark manufacturers, has been creating watches since 1881. The company has a long history of excellence, beginning with clock creations and continuing today. Seiko began in 1881, under the name Seikosha. The company's factory produced wall clocks, and made its first pocket watch in 1895. In 1913, the company made its first wristwatch, the Laurel, which moved the company to fame and success in Japan. The company became Seiko in 1929. This is when it produced Japan National Railway's official watch. Since then, the company has been calling itself Seiko and has been reinventing watch designs for various purposes.
Throughout Seiko's early history, it hit a series of important milestones for its business and for the entire watch-making world. Most of these included inventions of exceptionally beautiful signature watches, for which the company became famous. In 1941, Seiko introduced the chronograph pocket watch. Seiko's first television commercial went on the air in 1953. The Grand Seiko, the company's signature watch was introduced in 1960. Seiko's many design innovations include the world's first quartz watch, the world's first LCD quartz watch with six digit display, and the world's first intelligent analog quartz watch with alarm and timer function.
In 1992, with the introduction of the Kinetic design, once again Seiko found a new type of watch. The Seiko Kinetic collection is a line of quartz watches that are electrically charged by movement. The Kinetic Auto Relay goes into suspended animation when unworn for three days, thus conserving energy. With a few shakes of the wearer's wrist, it wakes up and resets itself to the exact time. Dedicated to technology advancement and precise manufacture, the Seiko Company has repeatedly staked its reputation on performance, acting as the Official Timer of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Sapporo, Barcelona, Lillihammer and Nagano. The company was awarded the Best Mechanical Wrist Chronometer at the Geneva Competition, earning the highest score ever. Since these prestigious moments, the company has continued to win consumer awards, and to receive honors, such as being the official timer for the IAAF games since 1972. Most recently, in 2004, Seiko was awarded the prestigious IEEE Milestone Award.

Seiko still remains a top watch seller in Japan and around the world. The company covers more than 60 countries worldwide. In March 2008 the company reported employing 440 employees, and making a profit of five billion yen. The head office remains in Tokyo.
My Favorite: Abs Belt
FDA certified Ab toning belts
Flex belt is a unique fitness belt of the Slender tone Ab Belt system. This electrical powered belt is certified by FDA as safe product for users of any age. Different types of flex belts are available for use by both men and women. The clinical study made on the belt by Dr. John Porcari, at University of Wisconsin in 2004, reported that the belt does not produce any harmful effects when using the electric muscle stimulations for toning the abdominal muscles.
The contour abs is also an FDA cleared fitness belt using the EMS principle for toning and strengthening the abdominal muscles. The gel pads of both the belts conduct the electrical impulses to the entire abdominal muscles to affect the muscle contraction. The efficiency of the gel pads greatly determine the results of the ab toning process. So it is very important to replace them whenever required.
