Self esteem is that feeling at the center of your being of self-worth, self-confidence, and self-respect. Self esteem is crusial expeirennce love and success in life. You have a sense of self-worth; you value yourself as a person.
Unfortunately many of us have a hard time experiencing high self esteem. In this lens, we show you ways to boost your self-esteem and achieve the life you deserve.
The Importance of Self Esteem to Your Life
You can't put your hands on it, but it affects how you feel. You can't see it, but it's there when you look at yourself in the mirror. You can't hear it, but it's there every time you talk about yourself inside. What is this important but mysterious thing? It's your self-esteem! Good self-esteem is important because it helps you to experience pride in who you are and what you can do. It gives you the courage to try new things and the power to believe in yourself. It lets you respect yourself, even when you make mistakes. And when you respect yourself, others are more likely to respect you as too.
Are you concerned about your popularity. Society often emphasizes the importance of popularity on TV and in the movies. We learn that its crucial to be a part of the "in crowd."
But psychological research suggests that self esteem is much more important than popularity. Self-esteem comes from feeling good about yourself and your own accomplishments and not comparing yourself with others. The less you can compare yourself to others, the happier you'll be in all of the settings of your life,

Self Esteem And Positive Attitude Here's How
What does true self esteem look like in a person. Those with true self esteem are in charge of their lives. They take 100% responsibility for everything that happens in their to them and within their lives.
If relationships are dysfunctional in their life, they ask, what is it in me that is attracting this type of person or what am I doing to create this situation, instead of blaming the other person.
They do not waste time saying, there is never enough, if only I had a better job, if only, if only. They set about discovering why this this situation is as it is, and how to go about changing it.
Do you need a confidence boost? Here are self-esteem boosting suggestions:
I would suggest some tips to help you to maintain a positive attitude.
1. Others Behavior: Since you cannot control other's people negative behaviors or change them, just be away from them. Don't isolate from people who have a negative attitude. Manage your time with the right people.
Instead of spending let's say ½ hour with negative, gossipers and whiners, spend just 5 minutes with them. Don't get hook in their negative thoughts just listen to them. Then, look for people that are positive and spend with them an hour. Their company will empower you . Listen and learn from them.
2. Always maintain a positive attitude toward a negative work environment: Try to do the best you can, don't overdue and then blame others because they won't help you. Instead of competing with others, try to be creative and be better than you were before. But always remember to take care of yourself. Skipping lunch, breaks , overwork and so on is unhealthy for you. Its about being positive toward you and the way you balance your life.
3. Past Failures: Let go of the past. The past is gone; there is nothing you can do about past situations. Instead, if you made a mistake or you think that you failed, learn the lesson and move on.

- Look for a model (someone who has self confidence) and learn from them. What is it they do that makes them confident, how do they act?
- Focus on your achievements rather than your failures. If you do find yourself thinking about how you failed then look at what you managed to do right and how you could correct what you did next time.
- Learn how to feel good about yourself
- Act as if you were self confident! You will feel more confident.
- Focus on who you are and what you like about yourself. Why do your friends like you?
- Prepare thoroughly for any task so that you can be sure you are ready.
- Work on any skills you need to do what you want, you can never be overtrained or over skilled for any challenge in life.
- Work on your relaxation skills
- Always smile and stand up straight
- Set reachable goals for yourself and break difficult tasks into smaller steps
- Reward yourself when you succeed no matter how small the achievement
- Finally, I advise you not to be too competitive or compare yourself with others. Be yourself and accept that life is not a race against others but your self confidence depends on you and your personal needs.

Self Esteem on Wikipedia
In psychology, self-esteem reflects a person's overall evaluation or appraisal of her or his own worth.
Self-esteem encompasses beliefs (for example, "I am competent/incompetent") and emotions (for example, triumph/Category: wiktionary - :despair|despair, pride/shame). Behavior may reflect self-esteem (for example, assertiveness/timorousness, confidence/caution).
Psychologists usually regard self-esteem as an enduring personality characteristic (trait self-esteem), though normal, short-term variations (state self-esteem) occur.
Self-esteem can apply specifically to a particular dimension (for example, "I believe I am a good writer, and feel proud of that in particular") or have global extent (for example, "I believe I am a good person, and feel proud of myself in general").
