Do you feel a little afraid of your ability to defend yourself? Walking on the street make you a nervous and anxious? Do you feel weaker than other people?

Would you like to be comfortable, knowing you are fully capable of taking care of yourself. You have skills to repel an attacker or bully.

Like safe motorcycling, the secret to being able to defend yourself is learning a few skills and having the right attitude. You have to be able to react in a split second. You have to have confidence in your ability to protect yourself! Once you know what to do, you have confidence and the attitude because you truly believe you can defend yourself.

This is critical in a dangerous situation. You need to react instantly. Being tentative on a motorcycle or in a fight will get you killed. Stopping to think about it when you see a car coming for you is BAD. You need to take action and use the bikes power to speed you away from danger.

Learn what to do and be able to instantly react and do what it takes to protect yourself. Just knowing you can protect yourself will make you less of a target because people will feel, you are not afraid and are not an easy mark.

Read on to find the quickest way to learn self defense.......

Where to learn Self Defense

There are many places to train in self defense. You can study the tips online. Watch some excellent self defense training videos. Sign up for self defense classes, you can find them in almost any area. Classes are really the optimal way to train with other people. Your skills will improve a lot faster with actual practice.

But you can learn quite a bit from a good book. Then practice as much as possible. You want this to be an automatic response to someones actions. If you have to think about it you will be too slow.

Another good way to get good and build your self image is martial arts classes. They are great exercise, get you out of the house and make yourself a stronger person overall. I recommend them highly. I have studied judo for many years and it does make a difference how you walk around in public.

You will feel stronger and not let people take advantage of you as often.

First decide how far you want to get into self defense training. What do you want to get out of this? Just the basics, or do you want to really be able to know in your head, you can defend yourself at anytime.

It can be a passion or just another skill you desire to have in your bag of tricks. Take your time and start with the basics first no matter what. Most likely you will need to raise your fitness level anyway and this is one great way to do it.

Womens Self Defense - How a Woman Can Learn to Defend Herself

There are many self defense classes just for women. They focus on group training with other women. It is a lot easier for women to train without men around.

Search the web and watch the newspapers for women self defense lessons and classes. Most major cities have them often. Try for a class with less than 10 students so you get enough hands on training.

Books and videos abound on the web and in the library. You will want to learn self defense tactics and techniques to fight off attackers, self defense weapons from ordinary items and simple ideas to make yourself look like less of an easy target.

Simply maintaining your awareness to the surroundings and moving like you know where you are going can be enough to make an attacker choose someone else. But proper instructions on easy ways to deter someone intent on harming you are also really important to discover and learn.

Being able to walk around and feel safe is one of our most cherished freedoms. But we all know there are plenty of bad people out there.

Find and take a class or at least read a good book and practice a little bit. Just knowing you have self defense options at all times is a peace of mind.

Effective Self Defense Products are Out There

We all know the common ones but they still work and work in most situations. An attacker doesn't want to be injured and caught. They want to be silent and unseen.

Anything that makes noise is good. Whistles or noise screamers can be effective for self defense. Your scream is also advantageous, just stay far enough away and make noise. Move, it usually isn't a good idea to ever go along.

Keeping your distance is your best weapon.

Mace and pepper spray can be effective. They are available in a lot of different sizes for easy carrying. Check laws some areas may outlaw certain self defense products.

Stun guns are a good security measure, but don't count on them. Many times you wont be able to get close enough to effectively zap them. Thick clothing can block the effect.

The newest thing is tiny Taser guns for the public, they are just coming on the market now and the price should come down soon. Lets hope the over zealous police who are always late don't ban these from law abiders. We should have the right to protect ourselves.

Get out there and find some good self defense products and self defense books and videos to learn this right away. If you keep putting it off, you might never learn it in time. Just like seatbelts, you never know when you need them.

Start with the basics of Being Aware of your surroundings and avoid putting yourself in dangerous situations. Paying Attention really can save you a lot of grief.
