Self- Empowerment Strategies for Busy Women and Other Special People
Your path to self-empowerment is going to be unique to your circumstances. It will depend on your experiences as well as all the other things you have learned from teachers, mentors, family and friends.
This focus of this lens is to help you learn how to empower yourself as you deal with many challenges in life. Of course, I do hope to share this information with many other people interested in personal empowerment. But, the reason why it appears to be dedicated only to empowerment of women is due to the fact that women usually nurture so many people in their lives.
As a woman becomes more self-empowered, she tends to share her knowledge with other women, her spouse, boyfriend or partner, her children and many other special people in her life.
As you can see, self-empowerment of women can have a HUGE ripple effect on so many other lives.

Why Personal Empowerment Can Make a Huge Difference in Your Life
To put it simply:
Personal Empowerment = High Self-Esteem
High Self-Esteem = True Happiness and Personal Success
And if those things are not enough, there's another HUGE payoff for learning personal empowerment: You can NOT teach what you do NOT know. But, once you have mastered this, you are more likely to share your true happiness and personal success with so many people that you care about. In turn, they will share with others what they have learned from you.
This can have bigger implications for you if you are a mom or you plan to be one. Actually, if you nurture kids and teens in some capacity, teaching them personal empowerment strategies can have far-reaching effects in their lives and the lives of so many people in their communities.
Self-empowered kids tend to grow up to be happy, well-adjusted adults. They tend to raise happy, well-adjusted children of their own. They also tend to be good citizens -- instead of causing problems for the community, they tend to make a difference in other people's lives.
I strongly believe that teaching young people self-empowerment can be one of the best anti-drug we can offer them. We can NOT shield our children from the toxic elements in the world. But, we can "inoculate" their hearts and minds to help them fight off potential harm and evil that may come their way.
I do realize that we will always be exposed to some people around us who are just evil for whatever reason -- they don't take responsibility for their actions; instead, they tend to always blame others or society for their evil ways.
What is remarkable is not that we have evil people amongst us... what is more remarkable is that there is capacity for doing good in so many people. It is human nature to want to make a difference in other people's lives... and to feel good about it.
By becoming self-empowered and teaching our children personal empowerment strategies, we can increase the chances of having more people in our local and global community with greater capacity for doing good.
How does all this relate to your personal empowerment?
Personal Empowerment Can Benefit You and Your Loved Ones
That needs to change -- it's just not sustainable. Why?
When you just keep giving of yourself, you get to a point where there really is nothing more to give. And if you keep ignoring what your heart, body and soul is trying to tell you... you will end up hurting yourself in the process as well as the people you love.
How?
You will notice that you become more and more unhappy, angry, depressed or stressed-out as you continue to neglect your emotional and spiritual needs. You're going to feel used by the very same people you've been trying to nurture. And worse, your family and friends may not seem to care enough to give you a nurturing fix. Things can get even worse at that point....
Have you noticed that people tend to stay away from unhappy, angry, depressed or stressed-out people? Yes, that can happen to you!
Some people will try to help a little bit... for a while. But, eventually people will have trouble dealing with all that negativity. Unfortunately, even your family and friends will tend to notice that toxic cloud around you and will probably react negatively towards it... and you! So, your "nurturing fix" is probably not forthcoming.
There is a better way...
Learn to nurture yourself... not as an after-thought, but as the starting point. It seems selfish, but in a good way. It's important to learn to have some me-time to nurture yourself -- this can have a huge positive effect on yourself and so many other people in your life.
Be True to Yourself: How to Claim Your Own Power
Please don't misunderstand this. It's not about being a horrible witch or being a bitch! Quite the contrary.
What I like about *truly* powerful people is that they are usually the nicest people to be around.
Obviously, I wasn't at all talking about people who are on a "power trip" -- these people are so toxic because they have "fake power." They cause a lot of problems trying to force people to think they have power, but they do not.
Truly powerful people are usually nice and respectful of other people. They don't feel the need to try and take away someone else's power -- they have enough power of their own.
This seems paradoxical, but true power involves respecting oneself as well as others. So, even if one can take away someone's power -- that is, one is powerful enough to do so -- the truly powerful person usually doesn't do such a disrespectful thing.
How do you claim your own power? You have to learn to understand yourself and your needs -- you have to actively choose to put yourself in situations that can offer the best chances of meeting your needs and making you happy.
What if you make a mistake and find yourself in an extremely powerless situation - one that's often painful or even dangerous? Dare NOT stay in a toxic situation a second longer than your self-respect will allow.
What we're talking about is beyond self-awareness... it's having self-respect.
You have your own needs that differ from other people... but, they are just as valid. You have flaws... but, you're okay about them. Once you can start thinking about yourself this way, you have accomplished something so important. You have learned self-acceptance.
Self-acceptance is at the core of self-empowerment. You have learned to cherish yourself... just the way you are. There is no need to gain weight, lose weight, have more hair, remove too much hair... or anything else that you might do to yourself.
When you accept yourself, you will finally realize that you have true beauty. Of course, you can have fun looking good and doing other things for your health. But, that's just for fun and health.
Being self-empowered involves knowing that you have a beautiful mind and heart -- and with or without a beautiful body (yes, I know... preferably with a great body) -- you can truly appreciate the person you have become.
