Self Improvement & Self Help Can change Your Life

Self Help is the basis for developing a healthy mind. By removing negative thinking and replacing it with positives, you will achieve more in Self Improvement.

The Basics Of Self Help

Information overload and confusion is not healthy

Type the words "self-help" in any search engine and you will find millions of results with hundreds of different angles on the subject.

I will attempt to simplify these personal growth concepts here with the basic principles:

Reprogram Your Subconscious. You have to change your perspective:
We are who we are and we do what we do because of how we think. Our experiences and the influences in our lives to date determine how we react to situations because that is the way we have always thought and reacted.

To set about changing our attitudes, we need to change the way we think about things. We need to take a different view of life. This is the foundation for every self-help or self improvement ever conceived.

You have to adopt a positive attitude: Positive thoughts, attitudes and inputs, even from other people, will influence our life in a negative or positive way.

EFFECTIVE MEDITATIONS FOR...POSITIVE LIVING

Positive thoughts about events, people and ourselves will accelerate our transition to a better life. Positives help produce more positives, and positive thoughts result in positive actions.

Life will provide us with the opportunity to learn from uncomfortable situations or events. Immediately a negative thought enters your mind, you have to replace it with a positive thought.

As an example, I will share the one I use most often:

I leave the house on a wet Monday morning. Not very nice, however I can take two positives from that alone.

1. I am fit to leave the house. Some unfortunate people are housebound.

2. I am aware of the rain. The unfortunate drug addict or alcoholic may not be aware of the rain.

Examples like this can be applied to almost any situation, and can go a long way to raising your spirits in an instant.

300 Stress Management Tips

The Basics Of Self Improvement

7 Days to a better you

We should all try not to lose our own sense of self.

Here are some of the things you can think and work on over the next 7 days.

Purpose

Are you wandering through life aimlessly, always hoping, hoping that you will find happiness, health and prosperity? You have to identify your own purpose and aims in life, and you have to seek a way to achieve what you wish for. Hoping is not enough.

Needs

Needs that are not met can keep you from finding happiness. List your needs and give them absolute priority over everything else. Meet your needs before you concentrate on your wishes.

Values

What do you value most in your life? Make a list of your top 5 values. Some examples are security, freedom, family, spiritual development, learning. As you set your goals, check them to make sure they "sit right" with your values. If not, then reconsider your goals.

Passions

You know who you are and what you truly enjoy in life. Obstacles like doubt and lack of enthusiasm will hinder you, but will not stop you from becoming the person you want to be.

Spirit

Work on your innermost self. Live from the inside out. Reflect and meditate, become spiritually well and the whole world seems right.

Strengths

What are your positive traits? What special talents do you have? List three - if you get stuck, ask those closest to you to help identify these. Are you imaginative, witty, good with your hands? Find ways to express your authentic self through your strengths. You can increase your self-confidence when you can share what you know to others.

Serve

Serve others. When you are true to who you are, living your purpose and giving of your talents to the world around you, you give back in service what you came to share with others -your spirit - your essence. The rewards for sharing your gift with those close to you is indeed rewarding.

What You Need For Success

10 traits all successful people share

It's no coincidence that successful people all share common traits.

These traits are what makes them successful in the first place.

1. They work hard. Successful people are willing to work as hard as necessary to succeed. There is no such thing as easy money and they know that. They willingly put in however many hours it takes to succeed.

2. They have integrity. They are honest in all their dealings because they know that dishonest people might get the first sale but they will get the rest. Honesty does pay.

3. They keep on keeping on. Successful people outlast the competition. Because someone quit, there are a lot of success stories that will never be written.

4. They are friendly. Because people like them, successful people are able to lead others and get a task accomplished efficiently and effectively.

5. They keep learning all their lives. Successful people never believe they know everything. They stretch and grow and learn from their mistakes....they ask a lot of questions. They are readers, as well as thinkers.

6. They give more than is required. The old statement of under-promise and over-deliver became famous because it made a lot of people successful, including the richest man in the world - Bill Gates

7. They see problems as opportunities. Successful people find solutions to problems that look impossible. They dont complain, they go to work. They see a problem as a spring board to success.

8. They think positive. Successful people always see the glass as "half full" and operate on that assumption.

9. They manage their time efficiently. Successful people dont get side tracked easily. They dont waste their time.

10. They are great communicators. Successful people can convey their thoughts and plans to others without confusion of disconnected thoughts.

My View On Positive Thinking

Self Improvement begins with Positive Thinking

One of the first books I read on this subject has had a lasting impression throughout my life.

The name of the book I refer to is "The Power Of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale. The author wrote how just a mustard grain of faith can achieve the unimaginable.

I prefer to call this Self Help because no one can do this for you. It can only be done by YOU. Anyone can provide you with suggestions, but ultimately what goes on in your head is entirely down to you. Practice positive thinking and you're weel on your way to a Better lifestyle.

Replacing negative thoughts with positive ones is not as easy as it sounds, and is beyond the capabilities of the majority of people, simply because it requires continuous practice.

Good health, I believe, starts with the mind. I am not referring to purely physical conditions which are unavoidable, but rather illnesses such as Stress, Anxiety and Depression. (Notice the first letters spell SAD).

The mind has to be exercised just like the body. Look after the mind and your life's journey will be infinitely more pleasant.

The Power Of Positive Thoughts

A positive attitude begins with positive thoughts

Negative or positive thoughts determine your attitude to life and rub off on people around you. If you have a healthy self-image, like the way you are, and are confident and self-assured, you help others around you to feel the same way.

A negative attitude, on the other hand, has, of course, the opposite effect. So, if carrying a negative attitude you feel bad about yourself, and you contribute to making others feel the same way.

Here's a question. When you meet up with friends, do they fall silent as if something terrible had happened? Or does everybody there perk up as if waiting for something exciting to happen?

If you want to have a positive attitude, you have to develop healthy thoughts. This is probably very hard to do nowadays since, all around us, the media feeds us nothing but negative thoughts.

A study shows that for every 14 things a parent says to his or her child, only one is positive. This is truly saddening.

Although it is impossible to keep ourselves from the negative things around us, you can still carry a positive attitude by focusing on all the good and positive things in your life.

Practice Healing Rythms

Relax and get healthy

In a semi-trance like state the mind can be more open to auto-suggestion.

Audios can work better for some people, as relaxing seems easier and more beneficial with the eyes closed.
