Is it legal to sell my test strips?
Yes, if you are the legal owner of them. Anyone can buy test strips, even without a prescription, so as long as you bought the strips yourself, or received them legally through an insurance company, you are free to sell them. Test strips can be bought over the counter at places like drug stores, pharmacies, Wal-Mart - and it is 100% legal to resell over the counter products. Even if your boxes are marked "mail order only" or "not for resale" you can still sell them - this just means they can't be sold through a retailer. Bear in mind that if your boxes were free samples from Medicare or Medicaid, and are marked as such (they usually have a red band on them) those boxes cannot be resold.

What brand(s) of test strips do you buy?

Unlimited! We'll buy all you have to sell. But be sure you keep enough to use - don't sell your last box and get caught without when you need to test!

How soon can I get paid?
We know you want your money ASAP. When an order arrives we inspect it (see our Terms and Conditions), and your Money Order will be in the mail within 24 hours, unless we receive your package on a Saturday - then the Money Order will be mailed on Monday. We can also reimburse you via PayPal in an instant electronic funds transfer.

How can I trust you to send me the money?
We are in business to stay in business, and we work honestly and professionally. Our address, phone number and email are available to you - and it's a real address, not a P.O. box. We use the United States Post Office to transact business. When you ship your items using USPS it is actually mail fraud if we do not promptly return a payment to you! When you quote me a price, is it guaranteed?

Do you ever buy expired test strips?
No, we don't. The boxes you send must have an expiration date at least 6 months ahead of the date we receive them (there are occasional exceptions). The boxes must also be factory sealed and in good condition.

Do you purchase any other diabetic products?
No, just test strips. We do consider buying some brands of lancets (see our website for details).

Who pays for the shipping?
We do. Here's how it works: We will pay up to $3.50 for packages mailed First Class (13 oz. or less). If you are shipping more, simply take your boxes to the Post Office and ask for a Priority Mail (or Priority Mail Flat Rate) box. The boxes are free, and they will even tape them shut for you. We reimburse based on the least expensive method of mailing - by weight or Flat Rate.

We will reimburse up to $5.20 for small Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, up to $10.95 for medium Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes, and up to $14.95 for large Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes. If you have included other supplies that we cannot purchase, we will reimburse shipping based on our best estimate of the postage needed to ship those items that we can use. We will make a shipping recommendation based on the quote and we ask that you do not exceed that. We cannot reimburse for extra services like signature confirmation or insurance. Reimbursement for shipping will be included in your Money Order or PayPal payment.

How do I ship these strips?
Use a box - this will prevent crushing. The strips are lightweight, and can often be mailed first class. If the package exceeds 13 oz., USPS Priority Mail works well and offers free boxes. Make sure to include your complete address and your email. Also include a copy (printed or written) of the quote we provided. See our Selling & Mailing Guide for more information on shipping.

How can I tell if my test strips are expired or my seals are broken?
Most test strips have an expiration date stamped by the manufacturer and are factory sealed, so that you cannot open the box from either end without either tearing the cardboard or separating the affixed seal. Test strip boxes that have expired and/or have broken seals are not acceptable and will be discarded.

What do you mean by "good condition?"
In order to get full price for your test strips, the box must be sealed and in good condition. We are willing to accept boxes with minor damage to them, at an adjusted lower purchase price.

So what does "good condition" mean? If the box has been torn because of a label removal, crushed, or marked or scored with a pen in some way, that will lower the value of the box. If boxes arrive in such a condition, we will make a determination as to price adjustment and do our best to notify you. If the damage is such that the boxes are unsellable, they will be discarded. You can help insure your boxes arrive in good shape by shipping them in a box, rather than an envelope, and leaving the labels on for us to remove without risking damage to the outside of the box. If you wish to obscure your information on an attached label, please use a soft magic marker rather than a ball point pen to avoid scoring the surface of the box beneath the label.

How do I know what kind of test strips I have?
Almost all the test strips have a name and a manufacturer name and item number. If the item number is not visible on the front it can usually be found on the bottom or on the side of the test strips.

There is a twenty dollar ($20) fee for returning your test strips.

How To Get Your Money

1. Inspect your boxes of strips. Note the brand and expiration date and make certain they are factory sealed. If there is a sticker attached, please leave it on, as attempts to remove it can cause damage to the box; we will remove it after it has arrived. If you wish, you can use a felt tip marker to cover up any personal information.

2. Fill out our Request-A-Quote form or email us the information at help@sellyourteststrips.com. We will respond promptly with a quote.

3. Package the strips securely in a box and mail them to:

You may use any shipping method you prefer, but we recommend USPS for economy. USPS First Class Mail is very inexpensive (you may use it on boxes up to 13 oz.), or Priority Mail for boxes 14 oz. - 2 lbs. The Post Office will provide you with a free Priority Mail box for Priority Mail Shipping. They will also provide a tracking number.

4. Include your quote (a printed form, email or a handwritten copy) and your email address and home address in the package.

5. We will send a Money Order (or PayPal payment, upon request) to your address within 48 hours of inspecting the strips. We will also reimburse your shipping expenses - this will be added to the Money Order.
