In The News - a section specifically designed to initiate interest and participation by skilled and talented photographers. Dreamstime seeks out the amateur and semi-pro photographers who wish to elevate their exposure as a photojournalist to introduce their photo stories in In The News. This exclusive section features photos that tell a story or are of news relevancy or interest (surrounding an event; community, national or worldwide; past or present).

The Assignment - a motivating initiative established to entice photographers to become involved members. The agency posts a monthly Assignment; a contest in which a current photo assignment is issued to members. The winner of the Assignment receives a prize. Milestone Prizes
Succeeding any other microstock agency, Dreamstime increased its gallery of photos by 500,000 images in just four short months earlier spring of 2007. Dreamstime reached its goal of 1 Million images in February (2007). To assist in meeting its ambitious target marks, Dreamstime awards a photographer for every Milestone contribution. At every 100,000th interval, the contributor who submits a photo or image at the next 100,000 mark receives a prize.

Dreamstime is the place for double platinum stock photography.

Anyone can become a member of DreamsTime community, however they only accept quality-based photos for inclusion in their database. DreamsTime carefully review each application received. You may apply to become a member by registering and uploading your first files. If they are approved, you will see them on your personal account. If they are not selected for inclusion in the database, you will be notified via email, including the reason and/or suggestions for improvement. After solving the problem, you can upload them again.

As soon as your application is accepted, your files will be available for sale on the site. Upon review, the file will be included as a 1st level file. Depending on the quality of the shot, composition, subject and print size, the file will have more or less downloads than other similar shots. Once a file exceeds a certain amount of downloads, it automatically moved to a higher level and sells for a higher price. Check table below for price and level structures. This approach is intended to give an equal chance to all files in the very beginning. It is also a way to encourage good shots that have fewer downloads, against other similar shots that have many downloads.

For each transaction, the photographer receives a 30-50 percent fee. Exclusive images receive an additional 10 percent bonus, while exclusive photographers enjoy a 60 percent fee and an additional bonus of $0.20 for each approved submission. Dreamstime awards the highest royalties in the industry, according to a study of PDN Magazine.

Any photographer may request to be paid for his/her sales on Dreamstime.com as soon as the balance has reached $100 and the photographer submits a payment request from the Management Area. We currently send payments by bank check, Paypal or Moneybookers.

They ask their contributors to maintain/keep online a minimum of 70% of their approved/accepted submissions for at least 6 months.
