As sellers, we are always looking for alternative places to showcase our goods or services. We are also looking for ways to cut our costs. Sellers also need to add channels to their marketing. So why would I suggest Ecrater? With the sudden changes over at Ebay, many sellers are looking for a viable alternative. I believe that alternative is Ecrater. Ecrater is fast and an easy setup and go. It can take you only a couple of hours to set up a store. Ebay has gotten so costly, for many of the smaller sellers. While the traffic is great, with the costs of Ebay and Paypal, they both eat up many seller's profits. While there are many Auction sites out there, many do not have anywhere near the traffic of Ebay. We have tried them all with little satisfaction. The number of non-payers, can make you pull your hair out!

If you have set up an e-commerce site, you know how time consuming it can be to populate your store, enter shipping information, metatags, etc. We have tried several different websites, and have had some difficulty with them, but this was a snap! The only thing that has stopped us from doing more is time! That is not really a fault. We have set up two stores here - Fun Cool Collectibles - Unique gifts for Unique People and . I love this site for it's ease of use, and the price is right - no hosting fees! No commission fees!

We have been selling on ebay Utradesports for the past 7 years! We have done well, but the ebay fees and paypal fees have more or less forced us to look for other venues for our products - my partner found Ecrater and started putting stuff up over there, within the first week we had a sale! This was absolutely incredible we thought! We had had our own store with a domain name and CRE ecommerce website and were lucky to make a sale every other week. We had a Yahoo store for two months and never had one sale! But at Ecrater we had a sale in our first week! We poured our efforts into Ecrater, and backed off on Ebay, it was just getting too expensive over there. We had liked the Ebay stores at one time, but last year Ebay had jacked up the final value fees to make them more than the auctions. While the listing fees were lower in the store, the final value fees were more than the auctions, so we had to look for an alternative. We had tried free auctions, but there was never enough traffic. We could have hundreds of auctions, but very few sales for our efforts.
Using Ecrater is adding another channel to your marketing mix. It can help you add another dimension to your sales. Ecrater automatically sends the products to froogle, so you don't have to waste time getting the feed ready and dealing with some of the froogle headaches. Up until December 31st, 2007 - Google Checkout is free, which is a great plus! There is free hosting! Unlimited image hosting - we sometimes use 4 or 5 images, but you can use up to 10 images!

This is an important part of Business

When you have several sources of income, you have to be organized. If you have several websites or lenses or affiliate links you need need to be organized or somewhere to store your passwords. This can get cumbersome, I remember when I would just write it on a handy piece of paper, and before you knew it I was looking through hundreds of pieces of paper just for a bloody username and password. These organizers are a must have. I only list Palm and HP - after using the other ones, I do not think they are worth the additional cost of purchasing software. This is an excellent site for traffic to your Ecrater store. We are constantly putting up items from our Ecrater Store and we get phenomenal traffic to the store. We have not seen this sort of traffic since we had been on Ebay, when we did most of our selling at Ebay. We will put up a series of items from the store and watch the people come and view them! I put up a TUK shoes and we had 20 views in the first day, and it was listed at google the first day! I call that Google Juice! This site is a must if you are going to sell on an estore or if you have auctions that you need traffic to. For 9.99 a month UsFreeAds is a must in your marketing plan for Ecrater

We sell Internationally 

This is part of our Niche marketing

Make selling Ecrater a part of your marketing mix. This will help you to sell more product on the internet, and that is the name of the game! Getting more product exposure. Many of the items - close to 40% - that we sold on auctions went Internationally, and we don't even have a brick and mortar store! Some of the product that we sell on Ecrater also sells internationally. We would never have this much sales if we were just a brick and mortar in the middle of New York! We ship Internationally, so our sales are quite good! This is part of niche marketing, as many people selling on, for example, on Ebay would not ship internationally. Sure, the odd item went "missing", but we chalked this up as part of doing business. Many international customers could not get the product, and therefore would pay a premium for it. We sold many items at the "Buy it now" price to International customer. We thought of this as part of our niche marketing. We charge a reasonable amount for shipping and handling for international customers and they flocked to our auctions! We have carried this over to our Ecrater Store and we sell many of our items Internationally!

    I am definitely going to look into this, thank you. I can't stand Ebay! I don't mind using them with the Squidoo module because there's no fees and BS that goes with an actual Ebay sellers account. Great lens! 5 stars!

    Hello,

    I am also selling on Ecrater and very happy about it! I opened my store recently and already had few sales. Buyers here tend to buy few items at the time and spend more money on one time purchace compare with eBay where I sell mostly one item per transaction (I make artistic handcrafted jewelry). I am am telling to all my eBay buyers about the Ecrater, because I can offer same items to them much cheaper. The main point - there are no fees!!! And very easy to set up. Now I am thinking to quit eBay and spend the money I pay for the listing fees on the advertising instead and promote my Ecrater store. I believe everyone should try selling there - it won't cost you anything only your time! And believe me - you will get your sales and more profits! At least I did and I not many other sellers are doing great!

    Thank you for the info about eCrater. Due to your video, I joined. I love the fact that it's FREE at eCrater. Most of my items I sell are under $20, so paying a listing and selling fee makes no "cents" to me. Plus, I think eCrater is just plain easier to use then eBay. I truly hope eCrater stays free. They will keep me as a member as long as they are free.
