Selling eBooks
New To Writing & Selling eBooks?
Okay, so you've written a superb "how-to," nonfiction type ebook. It shows people how to do a specific thing. And your book IS great. And--you've set up a great web site; It's a perfect sales page. So now, you wait--and you grow tired of waiting so you turn to Google and run an AdWords PPC campaign. You spend a hundred dollars a day to drive traffic to your site, but your sales conversion rate is dismal. Before you know it you're a thousand dollars in the hole and have maybe a couple sales to show for it.
BUT IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!
This scenario is played out a thousand times a day. And it is played out by new authors who have excellent books and great web sites. You need to know this: There are authors of ebooks who generate in excess of $100,000 in sales within the first 24 hours of when their books come out. And I'm not talking about big publishing companies, I'm talking about individuals just like you.
"There are authors of ebooks who generate in excess of $100,000 in sales within the first 24 hours of when their books come out."
THE FIVE BIG SECRETS
If I were to pick the five biggest secret techniques used by the big dogs to launch the sales of their ebooks, I would include the items below. I'll give you a clue: None of these five techniques involve sitting and waiting!
The five biggest things you need to do to successfully sell ebooks on-line are...
1. create an powerful sales page
2. set up an opt-in form or page (a squeeze page) to build your list
3. offer free bonuses to stimulate sales
4. build an army of affiliates to help you sell your books
5. find joint venture (JV) partners to email their lists and promote your site
AND HERE IS ANOTHER THING...
The "power ebook sellers" are no smarter than you; They are probably not better writers than you; their books are probably no better than yours. So why are they cleaning out the Internet for tens or hundreds-of-thousands of dollars a month while you're making only chump change?
Visit My Extreme Self Publishing Site
- My Selling eBooks Site
- The Big Money Writing Little Books site is dedicated to showing book and ebook writers how to completely write and market their ebook--even if they have no writing or book-selling experience. But more than that, you'll learn how to become a power ebook seller yourself.
Why You Should Visit My Site...
You'll have a chance to sign up for my mini-course (it's free) and get started fast even if you don't buy anything. And--what people also find is that my mini-course readers also find is that every week I give away something of overwhelming value.
I GIVE AWAY FREE STUFF LIKE CRAZY
I've given away advance copies of upcoming ebooks, such as my "Affiliate Deluge", "Cleaning Out The Vault: Secrets of the eBook Power Sellers Exposed!" and things like that. These are not 1-2 page reports, they are 30-100 page full blown ebooks!

And, in each mini-course lesson you get power-packed inside tips on how to grow your ebook writing and selling business fast. Here let me give you an example. And I am condensing this a bit from how it appeared in a recent mini-course lesson, but this is a valuable tip nonetheless.
HOW TO FIND JV PARTNERS (From my mini-course)
The very fastest way, bar none, to explode your ebook sales right out of the gate is to have JV (joint venture) partners lined up and promoting your product right out of the gate. Here is how it works.
Find web sites that have similar but not competing products with yours. I go to Clickbank and scroll through the various categories until I find one related to my new ebook. I visit the top 30 sites in that category (ranked in either "gravity" or "popularity" and see if they offer a free newsletter or mini-course on their pitch page. (Almost all of them do.) I provide my first name and email address and I'm in.
Actually, before I subscribe, I go to my browser menu and scroll down to "page source" so I can see the code for the page. If I see something that looks something like...

This line of java script tells me that they are using AWeber to manage their mailing list and opt-in forms. AWeber is one of the most popular opt-in/mailing list managers on the Internet. AWeber requires every person using their service to include their actual, physical mailing address at the bottom of every newsletter, mini-course, or mailing that goes out through their system. Wonderful!
When each newsletter comes to me, I simply record the mailing address of the sender (the Clickbank pwer seller) and I then FedEx them a JV proposal asking them to promote my new product in their mailings. (They will act as an affiliate and get a commission for every one of my ebooks sold.) But that's okay!
Many of the Clickbank authors selling ebooks have hundreds of thousands of names on their mailing lists. Line up a few of these guys to do mailings and you could sell thousands of ebooks in the snap of a finger.
THAT'S AN INTRO, BUT DON'T TAKE OFF YET
You need to know how to craft your JV proposal. You need to know how to convince these power sellers to promote your ebook. And that's part of what's covered in my "Big Money Writing Little Books." program. Still, I have given you a tip here that could be worth a hundred thousand dollars to you. The addresses of teh big dogs are hard to find--I've just shown you how to do that!
YOU NEED MY "MINI-COURSE" AND IT'S FREE
Visit my site and get the mini-course. It's filled with tips like the one I gave you above in each lesson. You won't be sorry!
Defining The Person In The Age of Information
When I was five years old I built models of pirate ships; I had collections of dinosaur toys; I had several toy fire trucks and I collected baseball and football cards. Without psychoanalyzing myself, I related to toys that represented powerful things--and by tautological inference, that made me feel powerful.
When I was a teenager I ran across a book on my parent's bookshelf titled "What I Believe," by Leo Tolstoy. I read it; It was interesting. This little 120 page book did something else for me: It made me think about what I believed in. I came up with the idea that eveyone should write a book.
"Everyone should walk around with their book in their back pocket. Then, when two people meet they could exchange books for ten minutes and let each other learn a little about them: what they believed in, what they think is important, what they are interested in."
I still believe in that basic concept. But the world has changed. Everything has gone electronic. We're wired! Today every person has the opportunity to write that book of theirs. Whether it is 20 pages or 200 pages--we all have the opportunity to touch the world with our great ideas of moment and substance.

With the advent of electronic publishing, we can all write something important to us and share it with the world. We can create an ebook and either sell it or simply share it with others. Writing and selling ebooks is so easy.
I am not impressed by fancy cars, big houses, or designer clothes. What I am impressed with is a powerful idea presented by a person with a passion for what they believe in.
Whether it's in a blog, a video, a book, or a web site--when I read something by someone with a passion for the topic--someone who can impart that passion to others, I am impressed.
The world is patiently awaiting for your great ideas. Do not disappoint it. Question EVERYTHING, even your most firmly held beliefs! Share your thoughts and ideas. Give the world more, much more that it expects from you and you will be a tremendous success whatever you do. Learn to help others solve their problems and improve their lot in life and you will be a success.
High Grade - Low Grade Traffic
"Learn how to write and sell your own ebook fast. Learn the techniques the pros use to sell massive quantities of their ebooks. Click the image below to sign up for my FREE Mini-Course."
All traffic is not created equal! Let's talk about low grade traffic. A good example is banner traffic. Some affiliates will have pages filled with banner ads for dozens of various products. A banner shows very, very little information about the product. People clicking on the banner are unqualified prospects. Most will get to your site and click away--they are curiousity seekers--tire kickers.
The highest grade of traffic is that which comes from a JV partner doing a mailing on your behalf. The email they send out explains exactly what your ebook is about. Furthermore, they have a relationship with their list subscribers and the subscribers will take their recommendation for your book seriously.
Another form of high grade traffic comes from blogs acting as review sites. By the time the visitors goes through the blog, they have a good idea of what your ebook is all about. They have a high likelyhood of buying your product if they click to come to your site.
How can you tell what kind of traffic you are getting from an affiliate? If you are getting a slow but steady stream of traffic from an affiliate over a period of weeks, they have probably set up a blog or a pre-sell page to promote your product.
On the other hand, if you start getting dozens, (or hundreds) of clicks from an affiliate in a matter of 30 minutes or so--they have probably just sent out an email to their list promoting your book. If it is a JV partner you will probably know about this ahead of time anyway. These visitors will buy at a much higer rate than low-grade traffic from banner ads.
Another thing is to check your email for sign-ups to your newsletter or mini-course from your squeeze or opt-in page. When you start getting tons of subscribers in a hurry--someone has done a mailing promoting your product. The orders will follow promptly.
A few weeks ago I got up one Sunday morning and had over 80 new subscribers to my mini-course within a 90 minute period. One of my affiliates had done a mailing a couple hours earlier and sure enough--when I checked my sales--they had started piling up. It's a good feeling!
Super Tip On Finding Super-Affiliates
Go to an article directory such as ezinearticles.com. Do some searches for articles using keywords related to your book. See if you can locate an expert author with at least 1,000 articles to their name. There are tons of them--believe me.
Ezinearticles has about 50 expert authors with over 1,000 articles. They have about 250 authors with over 500 articles. They have over 500 authors with 200 articles, and about 1,500 authors with over 100 articles. There exist more potential JV partners here than you could possible use in a lifetime--and you only need to find a few to create an incredible avalance of sales!
Now, anyone with that many articles has built up a rather substantial mailing list as a result of those articles. Now Google around a little as I discussed above and see if you can find an email address or a mailing address for the author. Approach them with a JV offer.
If you can convince a partner with a list of 10,000 or more names to do a JV mailing for your book, you will see your sales skyrocket in a matter of an hour after their mailing. And don't give up! You may have to approach 10-20 prospects to find one willing to work with you. There is huge money in something like this--stick with it!
