Send Christmas Cards that Keep Christ in Christmas

The Perfect Christian Christmas Card

The perfect religious Christmas card for you to send your Christian message will be as unique as your family is. Think about the cards you like to receive yourself. Don't you love the cards that look as though the sender was thinking especially of you when she sent it? Or cards that you know reflect the people that sent them? When you open a card, are you more impressed with the pre-printed signatures or the ones with a handwritten note in them? The former lets you know you're still on someone's Christmas card list and they cared enough not to forget you. But the latter says that you matter enough to get a personal note that no one else gets in exactly the same way. I always find myself looking for that personal note, and I rarely send a card without one. I even like Christmas letters and read them.

When I consider the perfect Christmas card to send, I first look for a unique design and a Christian message that's also unique.Even though the details of the Christmas story are fixed in the Scriptures, the meaning of it is unique to each Christian. Each of us probably has a favorite Scripture we associate with Christmas we'd like to see on the card we send. Or maybe it's a message based on the Christmas story. Maybe you'd also like to include a special family picture to let your distant friends see how you've all changed in a year. On Zazzle you can have all of that because you can customize each card to suit yourself. You can use the pictures and text you see on the card or you can substitute your own. Let's look at the possibilities!.

I used to be a professional card buyer for a Christian bookstore.

I used to love picking Christmas cards for the store to sell.

During those nine years I can't begin to tell you how many Christmas cards I read as I chose them for the store. I picked every rack card and every boxed card design personally -- I never let a publisher representative sell me an assortment or pick the cards for me. Judging from the way the cards sold, customers liked my selections.

On Zazzle you can do what I did by picking from thousands of Christmas cards to find the ones you like best. Or you can design your own. Use the customize button on any card that has it to use your own picture, text and words. You can change the text color and font or the background color of the card. It's fun to play with the options. Most of the art masterpiece cards I chose below are blank inside and easy to add your text to. Or use the card above in this module as a template for designing your card. Put your family photo on the front instead of my picture.. Delete my text or change it. Add what you want to say on the upper or lower inside sections. make it entirely yours.

Get your Christian Christmas cards early.

Before you know it, it will be time to start sending Christmas cards to your friends and loved ones. Now is the time to think about it if you want a card that truly expresses what you want to say for Christmas. When you wait until the last minute, you have to settle for what's left in the stores, and those cards may not be exactly what you want.

Traditional Religious Christmas Cards with Art Masterpieces

Perhaps you like your message to appear on a card with a reproduction of a famous painting by a great master. Zazzle has something for you, and you can always change the message if you have one you'd rather use. Here are some that I might have chosen when I was buying for my store in my Logos of Westwood card buying days.

Here are some unique Christmas cards that focus on Christ.

Remember, you can change any part of them to reflect what's most important to you. Just follow the links under each card. Then, under the card you will see a gold "customize it" button. That will display all the different substitutions you can make, change the size of the card, and see templates. You will also notice that there are discounts if you buy cards in quantity. But you can assort cards to reach that quantity, as long as you keep the card size the same.. Maybe you don't want to send the same card to everyone on your list. People in special circumstances may need special words of comfort or inspiration. Of course, you can write those in a personal note, but you might also want the entire card to show that you understand. More about that later.

What kind of Christmas cards do you most like to get?

There are so many cards to choose from that I normally can't stop at one. I can't think of one year when I bought the same card to send to everyone. Your friends probably have a tough time choosing, too. Which of their choices have you most liked?

Christian Christmas Cards for Your Husband or Wife

Don't forget your spouse.

Don't forget Christmas cards for those who are newly bereaved

Especially if this is their first holiday season after losing a loved one.

I remember a family I know that lost their son in the week before Christmas. His presents were wrapped and under the tree. Believe me, they were not having a merry Christmas, especially when their younger children started asking who would open his presents. Another friend of mine lost her husband suddenly in a train crash only a few months before Christmas. She and her three children were still in mourning when the holidays rolled around. We lost our Jason, when he was 14, in August of 1991, and Christmas had been his favorite holiday. We had a very hard time getting through that Christmas season.

So what kind of holiday greetings are appropriate for the recently bereaved? They need to hear from you more than ever, but wishing them a merry Christmas is a bit ironic. They need an encouraging note. Even Christians, who know their loved one is in Heaven, are sad because they are missing him or her. The recently widowed may be facing their first Christmas alone in many years. Recently divorced people may have some of that same loneliness. They will appreciate a card with your family photo -- they still love you. But they also need a note that indicates you understand their situation and that you're thinking of them and praying for them. An invitation to attend a Christmas Eve service at your church with a low-key dinner before or after would be a thoughtful gesture. Or, if there are still small children at home, an offer to bring a tree and help decorate it might be appreciated.

I designed this card for the recently bereaved and will probably make a few more. It's a way to offer hope and comfort to those you may live too far from to visit. Be sure and write a personal note on whatever card you send. And remember, you can customize this card and change the picture or the words. It wouldn't hurt to follow up with a phone call the day after Christmas, say you had been thinking of her, and offer the chance for her to tell you how it went. Then listen. You can't make it all better, no matter what you say. But the best thing you can do is offer your ear and ask the kind of questions that encourage your friend or family member to express her feelings. Your response should be to validate that having those feelings is OK. It's not a good time to give a mini-sermon on victorious living.

Christian Christmas cards without the customize option.

Some designers have not included the customize button. You might like their cards just the way they are, so I'm including them in this section. Remember that you can assort these cards with the custom cards for the quantity discount.
