How it works

Whether you get a 'blank' ball with a hand written message or a pre-printed ball with a short message at the bottom they are all sent the same way. There is no packaging, not a box, not a note attached. The ball is literally sent as is through the mail system. Delivery can take up to 14 days but for the most part I haven't read a review from anyone that it took that long. Depending on location it may take a little longer and due to the way that it's shipped there is no tracking number. So this is a gift that you would want to plan ahead on in case you need it to arrive by a specific date.

Who started Send a Ball

Two sisters in Chicago started the business. Michele worked with direct mailing and new the process and restrictions. She wanted to send something creative, so she sent a ball that read 'have a BALL with your new baby' to a close friend. It was a hit with her friend and she continued sending the balls for various occasions to different friends. A few years later a gentleman was at the post office and asked if she could send one for him, and offered to pay her as well. That was when she called her sister to tell her what happened and they decided to start it as a business.

    It's the thought that counts. But of course, it is also important to give a gift that comes from your heart, and that you think he/she needs or useful to the receiver.
