Sensitive Skin Care

Symptoms of sensitive skin:

persistent irritation as reaction to external stimuli

recurrent and persistent redness

feeling of tightness and burning

rashes or/and scaling

Causes of sensitive skin:
1. Hereditary
2. Immunal dysfunctions
3. Certain medications
4. Incorrect use of skin care product or prolonged use of aggressive products (cleansers, exfoliators)
5. Environment (pollution, hot/cold weather etc.)
6. Smoking, alcohol abuse, unbalanced diet

Sesnsitive skin can be a permanent characteristic or a temporary conditon.

Sensitive skin needs special treatment. It won't forgive neglect or aggressive skincare products.

To keep your skin calm and irritation free, avoid the following sensitizing factors:
1. Sudden changes in temperature, extreme temperatures and weather (e.g.: sauna, skiing)
2. Exposure to direct sun without protection
3. Skin care products with alcohol, acids, retinol
4. Skin care products with fragrance and colorants
5. Allergens such as honey or citruses (topical application)
6. Traumatic beauty procedures such as dermabrasion, mesotherapy

Pay attention to your lifestyle and diet. Excess of alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, spicy and salty food can aggravate sensitivity.
