Pajamas or Pj's as we call them, originally came from paijama, a loose,light weight trouser with a draw string waist band,worn in the South and West of Asian countries. A unisex garment which was worn back then by both sexes and still is today.

The Pajama a Persian word is derived from the Persians and both word and clothing item were later incorporated into the English language,after pajamas became extremely popular with the English,during the time of the British Raj.
