So you have decided up on a suitable topic, or product! Now to promote that concept via the internet, using your own website, or, maybe even a blog.

"What do we do next" I hear you cry, well my suggestion is wait and take stock, don't go out and buy your domain name, or begin building your website just yet.

Before you take any action, or create a SEO plan, it's probably best to define your own business strategy, the objectives, goals, opportunities, end result, outcome, or even your initial budget

Meaning; that you decide exactly what do you want to do first, i.e. what's the reason for your website, is it to sell a product, or offer a service, or..?

Developing your basic business idea, outline, or strategy will assuredly help to save you a lot of initial time, effort, and money, even, reducing the tactical work needed to do on your website search engine optimization plan [SEO]

"Learn from yesterday, live for today, and plan for tomorrow, expect the best, prepare for the worst, and capitalize on what comes your way".

Some things you might like to consider are;

1) Purpose - Objective
2) Opportunity - What are the benefits
3) Goal - Final outcome
4) Scope - What we need to do, to reach our goals
5) Timeline - How long will it take, with key milestones
6) Problems - Define any potential obstacles, what may go wrong
7) Assumptions - Are there any, note them
8) Cost Benefit Analysis [Budget / Return On Investment / Payback Estimate]

The outcome of your initial business ideas will then help you to form your online business plan, which in turn, will then help create the type of website that you need to build, in order to achieve your goals.

Once you have defined your business strategy, we can start to create our initial SEO plan, and building a SEO website

A closing thought: Always record your thoughts, plans, and strategies, as they will only become realistic when you note them down, it provides greater definition, until then, they are only idea's.

My name is Adi, and over the past few months I have been looking a ways to increase my earnings, you know, same as we all do, something to help pay the bills etc

Anyhow, I thought I would turn to the internet as a source of additional income. I found numerous ways in which to earn money, all of which, outwardly, seemed quite easy at the time...little did I realize, one of the fatal drawbacks of the web, was that you find yourself being sidelined, or distracted, and losing focus of the main issue, which was "making money". I found I was being attracted to each, and every new opportunity, forsaking the earlier one, for a bright new bold affiliation, idea, program, or even SCAM, until, my mind was awash with information, and opportunities "Information Overload" I hear you cry, true it was

Thus, I thought I would take stock, and note down some of the useful items of information that I have learnt during this past three, or four months

Let me start at the beginning; and to be frank, I often use Google and Yahoo while surfing the web, looking for things, or sources of information, but, I never realized the intricacies of just how these search engines really worked. More to the point, how, or why, they serve up the results they do. Until quite recently, when I discovered "Search Engine Optimization" aka "SEO"

In the past, and quite naively, I thought that you simply created yourself a website, got a domain name, some website hosting, and posted it, then, hope and prayed for the best. Those of us more fortunate, and who had sufficient funds, could then help to promote their site further by paid advertising [PPC etc] to one of the major search engines [Google, Yahoo, MSN]

How wrong I was, discovering, and learning about SEO has been a real eye opening experience, rather like, opening the Google search engine car bonnet, or hood, and taking a look inside

Within my SEO studies, I hope to share with you some of my experiences, although, let me emphasize, I am not some Internet Affiliate Marketeer Whiz-kid who "Overnight" became a Google success, now earning a Trillion $$$ Dollars a day...with a rather laborious, and boring cloned sales letter website, and "stock-photo" JPG copies of my Clickbank account to prove it, no, sorry wrong place. My apologies too, if you are looking for a "quick solution" to making money online, as you won't find it here, don't give up your day job, just yet :-)

What you will find, is that over the coming period, I thought I would share with you some of my own experiences, and lessons learnt while gathering information from the W3, assuredly, it will help reduce your own learning curve, with some new, and interesting ways in which we will aim to get you to Google page-1 and stay there. In addition, without having to spend a great deal of money, just your own time, and effort, that's it

As my mother always said; "if you always do, what you've always done, you will always get, what you always got..!

Bearing that thought in mind, this time, I intend to try something different, hence this initial, and first blog :-)
