SEO Tips: building backlinks

Chapter Two: The Start Point

Most of the work was explained in the first chapter. It seems fairly clear how a fully tuned and visually appealing lens is a strong point in any kind of strategy. In this chapter, however, we will deal mainly with the world out of Squidoo. Social networks, search engines, directories, blogrolls. But this is still an intermediate territory. In this page we're going to discuss also techniques which, by using Squidoo, will help our website to climb the SERPs. Of course, always remember that this is a sort of to do list. The real fuel for SEO strategies remains creativity, the ability to write for the web and to find interesting content. And this is a bit harder to explain ...

How use the links
Finally we speak about the links. Building backlinks is the central point of our strategy. But it is not just a matter of quantity. The link text, the use of the title and also the text surrounding your links affect SEO strategy. Within the widgets you can place links in different ways. For example, adding an image can be associated a link to this image. To be successful we must take care of the anchor test of this link, which, in this case, will be the "label" of the image. Or you can make links within the text. In this case it will be important the link text and what is written in the title attribute.
To use title attribute inside a link tag you have to write so: <a href="URL_OF_YOUR_PAGE" title="text tag title with our keyword">another text with keyword</a>. The text will show when the pointer pass over the link.
Example: another text with keyword
And now let's see how to use several widgets to create backlins.
The "Link List" BoxThis is simple. We want to create backlins and this module does exactly that. Here I added the links to some of my pages
- Accessible and semantic CMS | Zenukers CMS English Version
- Zenukers, Xhtml OpenSource CMS with semantic and accessible code, made in Asp, under GNU-GPL License.
- SEO e web graphic | webinprogress
- Realizzazione siti web accessibili e semantici, grafica editoriale e ottimizzazione per i motori di ricerca.by studiomennella
- Sunset in Trapani | by vacation-tp.com
- Photos about sunsets in Trapani. The unique climate of Trapani area provides an ideal scenery for fantastic sunsets and amazing vacations.
Use your widget for SEO

When you start a lens there are a few modules that come by default. But you can add others to complete your lenses with text, photo, video or multimedia. You will find the most popular modules that are already available to you over on the right hand side of the Squidoo lens you are creating. If you want something that is not available over on the right then you will be able to find more by clicking on the link that says, "Browse all modules" at the bottom of the module selection section.
In most Squidoo's modules, you can insert HTML code and then direct links to pages that we want to promote. Some modules, however, are naturally suited to support this strategy.
“Does Google use data from social sites in ranking?”
Matt Cutts answer "YES!"
The "Twitter Follow" Box
Try to increase your followers by using the box and connecting it to your twitter account
Using Twitter for literate communication is about as likely as firing up a CB radio and hearing some guy recite 'The Iliad.'Bruce Sterling science fiction writer and journalist
The "Facebook Fan Box"
Create a facebook page related to the topic of your lens and insert the link into the box. In this way, you will increase the chances of bringing new fans to your page.
Facebook Fan box widget may not always appear in the Workshop. Please preview or publish your lens to see the widget.
The "Bookmark Widget" box
It helps readers to share your lens on social tools
Social is not enough
Add social widget is just the beginning. Besides linking your pages (and your lens), you must actively participate with your account. If your account is also popular, then your pages will be.
The "RSS: Add your blog" Box
If you have a website directing issues related to your lens, you need to activate the RSS box
When publishing your RSS feed, you will create immediately some backlinks to your pages and, if the topic of your lens is somehow linked to that one of your website, you will increase significantly the visits. The SEO benefits are quite evident. If there is a RSS feed in your website (or in that one you want to promote), you need to insert the XML file of that feed into the box RSS: Add your blog.
The "Big Arrow Link" Box
The Big Arrow Link box allows you to put a direct link to a page. The backlink is guaranteed, but what you write will substantially affect the traffic from your lens towards your website.![]()
