Optimise or Optimize?

It has come to me attention that there are two types of Optimisation or Optimization. Google favours the American version which is Optimization while this is a UK website and we use Optimisation. There is no clear answer which you should use but please don't try to use both

Using Site Connect

I have been using a Website called Site-Connect for some time now and have found it to be an easy way to get Links and Reviews of your Web Pages which should help with Ranking or Traffic etc. When you Verify (you can do this every 2 Days) your Website or create Reviews of other peoples Websites then you get XP Points. Website Structure

Structure each Website page with good content, some of the content containing your keywords and create a good page structure. Please make sure that you don't stuff your content with keywords which don't make sense. Remember people will not read the page if they can't understand it because you have used keywords which don't match the content.

Backlinks are very important but you have to have the RIGHT type of backlinks. If the backlink is from a website which is not relevant to your website then that backlink is worthless so don't waste your time. If most of your backlinks are on the same topic as your website then they are worth so much more of your website. For example, if your website is about SEO like this website then it makes no sense to have lots of backlinks about anything none computer related

Anchor Text should look natural and make sure you don't have 1000's of the same Anchor Text

Paying for Link Exchanges

If you are thinking of paying for a Link Exchange here are the average prices you will pay depending on the websites Google Ranking. The higher the PR then the more you will have to pay. PR1 = $1 a month. PR2 = $5 a month. PR3 = $10 to $20 a month. PR4 = $20 to 30 a month. PR5 = $30 to 75 a month. PR6 = $100 to $200 a month. PR7 = $250 to $1000 a month

Think SEO sooner rather than later

Before you actually make the website you should think about Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and what you want to achieve with the website. This makes it easier to get good results with SEO if you have a clear goal

URL length

Try to keep the website URL as short as possible which will help with ranking and useful for Twitter. If your website has a short URL you can fit more information into each Tweet. A short URL also makes it easier to remember because not everybody uses Browser Bookmarks. So if the website URL is short and snappy people will remember it.

Search Engines

Although a good Google Rank is important don't forget about the other Search Engines like yahoo.com and bing.com. So make sure you use Meta Keywords and Meta Descriptions

Internal Links

Don't forget about Internal Links. Think of making it easier not harder for your visitors to navigate around your website because you want them to return often. When thinking of Internal Links picture a spiders web of Internal Links and not a one way Tunnel of Links
