Keyword Discovery

Keyword Discovery helps you "discover" the most common keywords/keyword phrases that are currently being searched by users.

1.) To begin type in the target keyword

2.) Analyze the results by:

-current number of searches

-related keywords

-related searches to that keyword

3.) After this analysis you can come up with a
pretty solid set of keywords you want to utilize
in the content of your website

WordTracker

This research tool is a little different than Keyword Discovery. Now you have to pay to use the service although they give you a "free trial" for seven days.

A monthly subscription you would pay $59.

An annual subscription you would pay $329.

*Just a hint you have to sign up with a method of payment before you get the free trial*

The rules from Keyword Discovery pretty much apply to this application.

Niche Bot Classic

This tool is probably the most simple of the four tools to use. All you do is type the keyword in the search box and your results are immediate. The results include the following:

-Predicted # of global daily searches

-Predicted # of Google daily searches

-Predicted # of Yahoo! daily searches

-Predicted # of MSN daily searches

-Link to live Google search on that keyword

-Link to live Yahoo! search on that keyword

-Link to live MSN search on that keyword

This will give you an understanding of the competition that is predicted and current competition going on for that keyword. Understanding this information could help you to decide between one keyword vs. the other.

Web Confs

This is one of my most favorite tools when working with SEO. Figuring out the keyword density of your competitors and then your site is something anyone with a website can find valuable.

1.) Type in the URL that you want the tool to analyze
--->i.e. http://mysite.com

2.) The tool then produces a cloud representation of your site. The terms that have the highest keyword percentage will stick it out more in the cloud. This tool also gives you a break down of:

-Keyword

-Numerical value

-Density percentage value in comparison to the rest of the content
