Sepultura

Ranked #18,478 in Music, #547,239 overall

Brazilian band Sepultura are veterans of the metal scene - from their thrash/death metal roots in the early 1980's to their tribal groove style today, Sepultura have remained strong through the 90's and 2000's.

Founding frontman Max Cavalera left in 1996, forming his own band Soulfly shortly after. Vocal duties were taken over by Derrick Green, and the new lineup recorded four new albums.

Recently, Max Cavalera's brother Igor, also a founding member, also left the band. There has been speculation has been that the name "Sepultura" may be retired, and also that reunions may be in the cards.

Latest News: Andreas Kisser has stated that the band plans to record a new album in 2008.
