Facial Skin Care Needs Vary: It's Not One Size Fits All!

If you had to slap a label on your skin, what would it say?

Men's, Black, Aging, Sensitive - or some other word that describes what you feel your skin care needs portray?

For years, we do nothing but slap on lotions and cover blemishes with beauty products - without much thought as to how it's affecting the top and underlying layers of our epidermis.

Your skin is unique to you - it's the largest organ in your body - and it deserves the attention you're going to give it to help it perform and function optimally.  It protects you, so now you want to protect it from chemicals and elements that could harm it.

First, you want to analyze your skin's needs!  Don't just go to the store and buy any lotion off the shelf just because it's cheap.  You want to invest in your skin and beauty by determining what products would best suit the needs of your skin.

If it's oily, then putting a lotion on it with lots of added oils could cause more harm than good.  Men have very different skin from women.

You might need something that fits your values when it comes to skin care, such as products that fall into the organic skin care category or those not tested on animals beforehand.

Skin Care Guidance You Can Carry With You For Years!

Anti Aging Skin Care Solutions

Different causes of aging skin and how to combat them!

We ALL want to look beautiful for as long as possible.

That means you have to take care of your skin if you want to stave off the years of wear and tear that normal, daily activity exposes you to.

The health of your skin is very important. You don't want to expose it to too much sun, for example, or you might run into skin care issues down the road. Some beauty products have SPF protection in them, which might be a big relief for you.

If aging is your #1 skin care problem, then there are things you can do to diminish and even reverse the effects of aging on your skin. The sun can cause deepening of wrinkles, sun spots, and a leathery appearance!

Aside from dermatological treatments, you can do things like facial exercises to help boost your skin care regimen. You can also be careful about what beauty products you're using.

You want to apply products that focus on anti aging, like creams and infusions meant to plump out the skin and decrease the appearance of fine lines.

Smoking can cause many fine lines around the mouth. Make sure you stop as soon as possible. But it's not just the movement of puckering your lips that causes wrinkles, either. Smoking depletes your body of vitamin C! This one ingredient helps keep your skin plump and moist, not dried out and wrinkled.

Like smoking, alcohol can also dry out the skin. It dilates the blood vessels in your skin and floods them with blood to the point where they are permanently damaged.

If you live in a cold weather area, then you'll have extra skin care duties. The harsh weather dries out your skin, so you'll want to choose an anti-aging moisturizer that keeps your skin moisturized.

Gender-Based Skin Care Issues

Men and women DON'T have the same skin care needs.

So it makes sense that manufacturers are beginning to roll out skin care product lines that cater to both genders individually.

For men, the issue has risen in popularity with those being concerned with their skin care regimen being labeled "metro-sexuals." This simply means you care about your appearance - and there's certainly nothing wrong with that!

Men are generally plagued with skin care issues resulting from shaving. They get red bumps after shaving, nick their skin, and feel a burning sensation after taking a razor to their face.

Skin care products for men address this issue because they contain aloe vera, a soothing natural ingredient that helps quell the pain felt after a close encounter with a razor. Alcohol-based aftershaves will irritate the skin and cause the burning felt after a shave.

For women, anti-aging is a TOP concern. They don't want to see wrinkles and lines around the eyes (also known as crow's feet) or the mouth. They never just use soap to clean their skin, but instead endure an entire beauty regimen based on keeping Father Time at bay.

Both genders face the issue of blemishes on the face. Acne, blackheads, freckles and moles can cause a person to be embarrassed. There are masks both genders can use to pull out blackheads and a wide variety of topical treatments for acne.

Learn How to Care for Your Body's Largest Organ - The Skin!

"The Skin" According to Wikipedia

In zootomy and dermatology, skin is the largest organ of the integumentary system made up of multiple layers of epithelial tissues that guard underlying muscles and organs. Skin pigmentation (see: human skin color or coloring) varies among populations, and skin type can range from dry skin to oily skin.

As the interface with the surroundings, skin plays the most important role in protecting (the body) against pathogens. Its other main functions are insulation and temperature regulation, sensation, and synthesis of vitamin D and the protection of vitamin B folats.

Severely damaged skin will try to heal by forming scar tissue, often giving rise to discoloration and depigmentation of the skin.
