Foods that Boost Serotonin
Why am I writing about the foods that boost Serotonin? I have cyclothymic disorder, a low-level bipolar disorder. While hypomanic episodes are usually a phase of increased efficiency, I've also been through mild, moderate and severe depressive episodes. Recently, I went on a "fad" low-carb diet, and I quickly noticed that my mood was declining. I was angry, irritable, and quite depressed. I don't know for sure if it was the diet or not, but I did some research and found out that some carbohydrates improve serotonin activity.
