Don't Know Servers? That Is Why This Lens Exists

If you're like most people, you don't know anything about servers. The concept sounds strangely foreign and exotic, but you know you need to know about them. This lens is designed to take those with no knowledge about servers to a decent level of information.

New To Servers?

Server technology doesn't need to be intimidating

At the most basic level, a server is a storage device. Like a computer, it houses files, folders, and information. Unlike a computer, however, servers are not meant to run their own processes. They merely house the applications and files needed for other devices and computers to run. Often other computers are connected to servers on a network and run their own computer programs by accessing them on the server. This can save resources for individual computers, which are not dedicated data storage systems.
