Private Cars
One can either rent a car or buy one. What you need to note is that cars in Singapore are all right hand drive. Also you may need to undergo a course to convert your license to that of a Singapore license. If you are looking to buy a car, do realise that the cars in Singapore cost more than other countries. There is an additional charge known as COE.
Other unique factor is the ERP system in Singapore where basically you will need to pay when entering the business district area. Parking in the business district area would usually set you back about $2/hr - $3/hr of parking.

MRT
The subway system in Singapore is very well linked up. You can travel from one corner to the other in about an hour or less using the train system. Fees are affordable, costing between $0.80 - $2. For a map of the MRT station in Singapore, click here
Bus
The main bus provider in Singapore is SBS bus transit. The fairs are about the same as the MRT and bus stop are usually located around 50 meters away from each other. You can use the journey planner available here to plan your route in Singapore. Just enter the starting location and the final location which you would like to go to and the planner will give you a guide of which bus to take.
Payment for Buses and MRT
The fare payment for bus and MRT in Singapore is done via ezlink card. This is basically a prepaid card which you buy in advance and tap whenever you board and alight the transport. For tourist, you can enjoy unlimited train and bus ride by purchasing a Singapore Tourist Pass which cost you $8/day. You will need to return the card within 5 days.
Taxi

Where the above holiday falls on a Sunday and the following Monday is a holiday, the Public Holiday Surcharge will be payable up to 12 midnight of Monday.
