Who is Seth Waite
So let me tell you a little about me. I love politics, running, basketball, and my wife. I also love to read and have an insatiable appetite for good books. I am also interested in movies and enjoy watching the classics as well as some of the new action movies.
I look at life through the eyes of an optimistic realist. That is to say, I think I see things as they really are and then hope for the best! I hope you enjoy my interests, favorite lenses, and great squidoo tips.

Politics
I have always loved politics since I was young. At first my main interest with politics began from my love of history. I have always loved to read about what happened in the world. Then I discovered at a young age how much I loved to read the newspaper and what was happening in the world. That's when it started.
I read the newspaper habitually throughout middle school and high school and could not go throughout the day without reading it! Now I use the internet for a diversity of opinions and resources on current news events.
Currently I am studying Political Science and will graduate in April 2009 with an emphasis in American government. I have enjoyed my studies and hope to continue to study American government through the context of constitutional law.

My Favorite Political lenses
So I love politics, and here are some of the parts I love!

- Realism is the political perspective that studies the effects of the state on the international political system. Realism is currently the dominate international security theory but is facing steep competition in a changing academic world. Best Example: America is the most Prevelant Realist State (nation)
Top 5 Favorite Political Books
Now I have read hundreds of political articles and books, but I narrowed it down to these 5...
Reading and Learning
I really love reading. I love historical, war-time, fiction, non-fiction, biographies, and sci-fi. I love the learning that takes place when I read and I try to learn throughout the day. I believe that lifelong learning is important to happiness and sanity!
When you are learning you are invigorated and progressing. These two factors give you satisfaction which lead to a happy and fulfilled life. If learning is just reading textbooks or going to classes then you have got it all wrong!

Although this is not me, I can relate to the bird! I have taken speed reading courses at school and find it to make reading even more enjoyable. Nothing is better than reading a good book in less than two hours. Or depending on length and difficulty > half an hour. I am currently putting together useful information for lifelong learning and speed reading on a lens that should soon be up... Look for it below in the future.

Favorite Books
These are just a few of my favorite books...
Bacon
An unhealthy delight!
Okay, so next is my dirty little secret, I love all meat products. I believe in eating a balanced diet, but can't help the fact that I love meat. Especially pork and beef. A big fan of bacon and steak. Matter of fact I have a blog about it at: http://bitofbacon.blogspot.com. Bacon is something I love weather it is crispy, chewy, or crumbly. Steak is great when it has been tenderized and marinated in some of my favorite sauces!

Don't worry though---I am someone that loves to run and exercise is very important to me. I have been working on getting ready for a triathlon (sprint) for next spring and have begun training for that. I did do a tri a couple of years ago and loved the experience.

I love History
History is perhaps my favorite subject. I love it! There is something great about learning about real people, events, and stories. I especially love to read and watch war histories. War is brutal and ugly, but the ordinary and extraordinary people that participate in them are encouraging. I love to see the epic events unfold through the lives of courageous people in difficult times. My favorite author of war histories is Cornelius Ryan. His books on World War II are amazing.
History Books by Cornelius Ryan
I have read all 3 books at least once. They are fantastic reads because they not only have the history minute-by-minute of each battle in all of its details, but it also has the stories of individuals. His writing is also fantastic because he shows you all sides of the battle. From soldiers to the pilots, generals, enemy, and political leaders. Wonderful in-depth descriptions.
Love of Squidoo

I love Squidoo! I have found that the community revolving around it has been so fantastic. It is made up of great lensmasters that are positive and helpful. I have received wonderful encouragement and great recommendations through their powerful comments and excellent lenses. These are some of the lensmasters that have made a difference in my Squidoo experience...
This is by no means a comprehensive list. I have read hundreds of comments and threads at Squidu that have been so helpful to me. I have also seen and rated lots of lenses with excellent ideas and lots of work that have inspired me to work harder on my lenses. I would like to thank everyone that has been so positive here at Squidoo and for the great Squid Greeters, Moderators, Giants, and Angels.

The Family
I love my family and feel the institution of marriage is so important...

I really love my family and am really grateful for how they have loved and supported me. I am so grateful for my wife and all that she is and does. My parents and my wife's parents are so fantastic and excellent at building us up and supporting us. Brothers and sisters are great as well. What can I say, family is just so important to me.
- The Family: A Proclamation to the World
- A lens I created about what Family is. In 1995, The Family: A Proclamation to the World was published on the family. My lens contains and describes this most important document.
- What is Proposition 8, California 2008
- This year State Supreme Court's have been changing the definition of marriage. I believe that these fundamental changes to the definition of marriage are a violation of religious liberty. Marriage is a religious principle validated by the government. Because of this it should be kept in definition by the Religions not the state.

- Nice lens on yourself. I am new, but is that something that all lensmakers do?
