How To Achieve The Goals That Mean The Most To You

Anything you want to achieve in your life is possible; all you need to do is set a goal and take steps towards it. Big or small you can create goals for every area of your life, I have found the most success when I create goals based on the following categories. . .
    - Me
    - Family
    - Health
    - Money
    - Contribution
    Me: goals are all about you. It's all the things you want to become, do and acquire in your life.
    earn, save and what you want to do with it.
    Family: goals that you create as a family or about family. You can include friends in this category as well.
    earn, save and what you want to do with it.
    Health: If you have the good fortune to have it, what goals will you set to try and maintain it? Here is where you would include a nutritious meal plan and exercise.

    Money: goals about how much you want to earn, save and what you want to do with it.

    Contribution: VERY, VERY important to give back. What do you want to share with others?

Why Resolutions Don't Work
Every New Year's Eve many people with the best intentions make resolutions for the upcoming year. By January 15 most of them cannot remember the resolutions they have made.

Resolutions don't work.

The main reason is that the habits we have are stronger than the resolutions we make. For resolutions to stick they need be goals with commitment, emotions and actions. To achieve, all you need to do is flex your goal setting muscles. Start with a private commitment to yourself to stick with the goal no matter what. For a real challenge make the goal public to your family and friends. Next you need to develop high level 10 positive energy. How would you feel if you knew deep down in your gut that you had no limits? High energy is key to achieving your goals and creating real success for yourself, because it triggers a surge in your believe system. The faster you truly believe a goal to be possible, the quicker it will be achieved. Once your Goal Success belief system is in place you will start to take the necessary actions to achieve.

Goal Setting 101
The best way to create your goals is to use the SMART system
Specific: Create a picture in writing with lots of details about the goal you want to achieve
Measurable: Set mini goals to track your progress. Yearly, Monthly, Weekly and Daily
Attainable: The goal should stretch and challenge you not break you. Don't set out to run a marathon before you run a 5K
Relevant: Your goals need to be about and for YOU; not what you parents, spouses, siblings or friends think is best for you.
Timely: Your goals must have a due date, something for you to work towards.

Action
You are now ready to start creating the powerful goals to help you achieve success however you define it, but the best written goals will do nothing for you if you do not take some ACTION. Statistics say that those who write their goals down have 97% success rate over those who don't.

So get started write now, here are a few more tips to help you get started . . .
    1. Use the SMART it is a proven formula that works
    2. Write goals in the present tense, as if the goal you want to achieve has already happened. Jim Carrey wrote a million dollar cheque to himself and dated it, which helped him sign the deal for The Mask.
    3. Write in the first person, use I statements.

Now it's your turn, think of 1 step you can do today to move you closer to your goals. Take it 1 step at a time, be consistent and you will achieve success in your goal in no time.
