    I'm a big fan of the wheat and ore strategy. Building cities is key!

    My strategy shifts depending on the board setup. We play with randomly set resources and numbers (with the numbers flipped over for first settlement placement) so you have to be ready to adapt to the board. Love playing with the Seafarers expansion because it makes sheep more valuable (need it to make ships).

    A nice lens on one of my favourite board games. I really do consider strategy & war board games the most advanced types of board games. For many people, the settlers of catan is already the next step from computer war games. Finally back to their friends and social interaction :)

    Very interesting. Nice lens. I just want to share something that you might be interested, Bridge, is a card game fun to play, but the better you play, the more fun it is. As you improve, you will be fascinated at discovering how much there is to the game. Despite popular opinion to the contrary, bridge is not difficult to learn. Learn how to play bridge contract card game and improve your bridge game in less than five minutes a day. Keep on posting interesting stuff, more power to your lens.

    I like to get the brick resources and locate on a brick port. Brenda, it sounds like you are a ruthless player! Hadn't thought about merging sets and playing a big game. That sounds like fun!

    Funny, when we play I almost always do something which causes one son to cry, "I can't believe you did that Mom!" An excellent game, my personal and a family favorite. My teenagers like it best when you put as many sets together as you can in order to play a massive game.
