How To Set The Tone for Writing

Setting the tone in writing is how you say it and the attitude you use towards the audience and topic. Your choice of words and level of formality and style creates the tone.

Use reasonable , even-tones, foraml and serious language. You set the tone just as the tone of your voice.

When setting the tone for writing always try to keep the syle consistent Keep your sentences short and simple.

Try to keep the article as relaxed as possible. Try to make the story readable more than once. Try and make sure that the plot confirms to a formula if possible.

Make your articles so that the reader can gain and feel more experience with each readiing. While directly commenting on the action of an aricle that you use for reprint in your newletter or e-zine.

Choose a critical approach that will allow you to develop some sort of feed- back on the topic or article at hand. Usually your topic will steer you towards a pattern that will assist in setting
the tone for your writing and articles.

Stratagies to follow when setting the tone for writing:

Use a highly informal tone for conversation.
Use a medium tone for professional.

Avod overly, cerominial tone, sarcasm and nastiness.
Choose words that work with the message, not aginst it.

Be consistant in all of your writing.

Use intelligent connections between sources and ideas.

Give credit were credit is due.

(A word of caution): Do Not use language to manipute the readers or distorted facts. Avoid words that are sexist, pritentious, ( showing off or obscure a message) Be straight forward.
