- Its wonderful to see how the passion she had as a 12year old, has not died out, but on the contrary has matured and developed. She speaks beautifully, with passion, not fanaticism.

- The average north american spends his day planning to stab his boss in the back to gain prestige and affluence and power. He doesn't give a shit about the environment or the future. This is a losing battle. Give it up and let the human race comes to its natural demise

- It's great that she is an activist and puts her heart in practice. A lot of people only recycle or buy green products, which isn't bad. But they are mainly consumers rather than spreading awareness or funding projects that would conserve or clean up places that need it.

- Every time I see Severn Suzuki's 1992 speech, I am wowed all over again. Thank you so much for sharing these other videos and interviews. What an inspiration she is! I especially appreciate her comment, "Inspiration is much more motivating than guilt," and look forward to finding ways to be inspired--and, hopefully, to inspire--more. Blessed

- First and foremost, Severn is inspiring. For that, she is a winner. I am a person who typically considers diametrically opposed ideas. In Severn’s case, I perceive via her message that her passion blinds her to the realities that bind us to the rut leading us to our doom. Sure she sees the rut, but what are the forces that maintain that rut? The point becomes what can be done about the rut, not where the rut is headed. The world is chasing a dream that is becoming an extinction event. Few real decision makers can give up their personal wealth or power in exchange for a dream. I agree they should, but just as the USA failed to ratify the Kyoto Protocol, so goes the world down a rut we do not control [yet]. We must change our value systems. Wealth must be redefined.

- I think it's great to see that Severn Cullis-Suzuki is following the path that she talked about as a 12yr old at an UN summit in Rio De Janiero, environmentalist have their hearts in the right place, but the richest 1% who makes more than and controls 95% of the world's wealth is too greedy and power hungry to help out in protecting and perserving vital natural resources or care to provide food and medicine for poor children and adults in impoverished countries. It's sad that our global home is slowly being ruined as resources & plant and animal species are being devoured or consumed at and alarming rate. Only God (Jehovah) can straighten out the un-ending problems that plague man and the environment. There is a future, but everyone has to learn how to change, but more importantly be WILLING to change for the better!

- Oh one more thing ... Thanks for your comment on my hydrofracking-and-updates lens. I also appreciate the feedback about maybe including HOW one can clean their water after it's been polluted through this hydrofracking process.
Problem is ... well water that has been contaminated through this process can not be cleaned. These victims have tried using a filtration system with reverse osmosis, yet the glycol ethers eat away at the membrane of the filtration system AND glycol ethers cannot be filtered out.
However I had already thought that I might include info about this - EVEN though it cannot be done, but just so the audience reading knows that is cannot be done - that's what makes this horrific.

- Great speech of 1992 and great look-up "what happened afterwards". Actually perceive the shift to ethno-botany more as a disappointment that pure activism can hardly change that EU bureacratic world... Will write a note for my Russian blog readers if you don't mind.

- Hi Severn Suzuki.
I heard your amazing speech at the UN. And one of my friends published it in a news paper here in Sri Lanka, in my native language, Sinhala. Seeing it a group of school children have responded it. The most important thing is they are in Grade 05 in school (about 10 years old). I'm translating their comments into English on your speech to send you these days. And I'll send them you as soon as possible.
I wish you all strength to continue the good work for the sake of our planet's betterment.
Best regards

- Her speech at the time in ECO '92 in Rio (age 12, 2009 she is going 30) continues to inspire even today...it's message continues... and the image of a bold young girl with a heart and mind for the earth is what I'd like to see more young people do for our planet. For me, it's what you do that counts. Every little effort is never lost. It helps builds the energy field and momentum to push the changes that needs to be done as we evolve ourselves and our localities. We learn by doing, one step at a time.

- I have loved Severn ever since I saw the vid of her speach when she was 12. She taught me some very valuable lessons about taking action on your beliefs even when it might be out of your comfort zone. When a 12 year old is a mentor to a women my age you have to think seriously about the wisdom of children and the newest generation seems to have been able to keep the wisdom they were born with longer than previous generations.
Thank you for bringing the story of Severn more current. I am still amazed at her strength, dedication, and wisdom.
Absolutely my fav lens of the day 5*
