Severus Snape: Friend or Foe

Ranked #21,565 in Arts & Design, #521,423 overall

Bad Guy or Misunderstood Scapegoat?

On July 21st, fans of the Harry Potter series finally got their answer to one of the most asked questions in the Harry Potter universe: Is Severus Snape a friend or a villain?

This lens will remain Deathly Hallows spoiler free for as long as possible for the courtesy of those who have not yet read the book. However, if you haven't read Book 6 yet, you will be spoiled.

Spoiler Alert!!

If you haven't already read Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince, you will more than likely be spoiled if you delve too far into this lens. Consider yourself warned, Potter-fan!

Why Is Snape So Sneaky?

Let's face it: Harry and Snape have never been great friends. Snape and Harry's father didn't have the best relationship and Snape is, after all, a former Death Eater. Then there's the matter of Snape murdering Dumbledore. But did Snape *really* murder Dumbledore? Or was he simply honoring an agreement made between the two of them? There's one things that's certain - all is not as it seems with Severus Snape.

Snape: Good or Bad?

Well, what do you think?

Severus, as Harry described, is probably the bravest man I've ever seen.

I adore Severus! And thanks to Alan Rickman, I lust after him in equal measure! I can't imagine anyone else playing Snape, even though Alan is technically about 20 years too old for that character. Trouble is, I haven't made any lenses about Snape (yet!). Maybe I should write more fanfiction about him first (LOL)...

Now that I've finished the last novel, I finally feel vindicated (and validated) for trusting Snape.

I've just watched Die Hard (the first one) and who's playing the Bad Guy? Only ol' Snape! He's pretty good at playing a baddie! Can we see Bruce doing a guest appearance in the next Film do you think?
