Sewing is great fun and an economical way to create unique Halloween costumes for all ages. With some great sewing costume patterns you can make all sorts of costumes for your kids for Halloween, School Plays, Christmas Pageants and more. You will also be able to make your own homemade Halloween costumes for yourself or others and each costume will be special and unique.

There are toddler costume patterns and baby costume patterns. You can use a renaissance costume pattern or medieval costume pattern for a fairy princess costume look or gothic vampire costumes. Historical costume patterns are great for patriotic costumes for Halloween or school plays.

Victorian costume patterns are great for period pieces and Elizabethan costume patterns work well for Shakespearan plays. You can get funny fruit and animal costume patterns for younger children for Halloween too.

The costumes pictured above are designed for woven and firm knit fabrics. The recommended fabrics are sweatshirt fleece, fleece, fake fur, cotton and cotton types. The leaves on the pumpkin can also be made in felt.

The pattern includes a cat (leopard, tiger, lion, kitten, depending on the fabric choice), bunny, dog (dalmatian etc. depending on the fabric choice), and a pumpkin. The body has raglan sleeves, a hood and an opening on the back with Velcro closures. The hood, the bottom edges of the sleeves and the legs have elastics in casings. The animals have tails with polyester filling. The cats have an optional chest piece and separate wrist and leg cuffs with elastic. The lion has a hood from contrast fabric. The bunny has an optional chest piece from contrast fabric and ribbon bow. The ears have wire attached to a headband inside the hood. The dog has a ribbon bow, contrasting tail and inner ears. The pumpkin has an appliquéd face, leaves around the neckline and at the top of the hood.
