- For one of the most memorable Christmases I had as a child, my mother sewed my sister and I an entire wardrobe for our Barbie dolls using scraps left over from our own dresses she had made. We each got an overnight travel case full to the top. We played with them for many, many years, and were the envy of all the girls we played with. When I started sewing, my first projects were doll clothes. I enjoyed reading the lens!
